Yes the price was high but if you take off the $900 in upgrades it would be about average for us. The upgrades just make it more relaxing. Jacuzzi party if the weather is bad:fish:
We always do non stop charter flights from St. Louis. As of today the cheapest I have found is $2539 for 5 nights and $2919 for 7 nights from Feb. 20 - 27. I never buy insurance. I like to live dangerously. The last two years, I have purchased our trip on Cyber Monday. I am hoping for some additional savings this year, too. A couple years, I booked the hotel and air separate. I got a better room/location doing it this way. Anyway, the price per night at TTR is outrageous compared to the past so it was more expensive than going with a charter. It is hard to put a price on fun, though.
right at $2500 total for 2, direct flight out of Cincinnati... Dec 30 to Jan 6th. Doing our transfer through USA Transfers here, which is 55/2 round trip. Worth the extra after sitting this last summer on a bus for at least 2 hours coming back from Akumal to the airport, and stopping at countless resorts to fill the bus. I slept through it, but it was such a waste of time!
Feb 16-23 (8 days, 7 night) direct flight on Frontier/TTI room/Transfers - $2700.00. I looked on Funjet and sent a copy to our travel agent to match it. Which they pretty much did. Looking to book it separate, flights alone would have been about $500 pp from Utah to CUN. Being our first time to Mexico, we didn't want to miss something to let the travel agent put it all together. Next time, we'll probably just book it all ourselves.
