I just called to check on our reservation and was told they are having difficulties connecting to the internet and will call me later. Getting concerned
I called the 800 number that shows up on the site from the link in Steve's signature line for TTR. Received a confirmation number from them (6 digits). Was told by F&S this morning that there had been a delay in receiving confirmations from TTR, but that she would update me by close of business today. I just got impatient and called TTR directly. Hoping that 6 digit # means all us ok. Hoping for the best for everyone! Definitely a lesson learned....from now on I'll take Steve's advice and stay away from the shady sites!
When did you book? Just wondering if you got your confirmation number because... A) you booked during the original promotion B) your trip is within 60 days Or C) you pursued it and obtained it from ttr directly. In our case we booked during the second sale on or about nov 12th and our trip isn't until April. Not letting myself get worked up yet. Pretty simple to me. They either... 1) provide me a confirmation # that I can validate with ttr in the next month or I see others successfully using them and I feel comfortable that I will get the number at the 60 day mark Or 2) they refund me (either directly or thru a fraud alert w my credit card), I file a complaint w bbb, post how horrible they are on every travel website and be sure no one else uses them. End result is you can't let yourself get worked up about something you can't control. Don't want to ruin a beautiful thing like a trip to ttr. All you can do is make as educated a decision you can and then deal with the consequences as appropriate. One way or another we will be at ttr April 26 to may 3rd! Can't wait.
We did receive a hotel confirmation number from them finally. Took a while. Had to call them 5 separate times and ask them to email me the hotel confirmation. We will find out on Jan. 16th when we show up at TTR door.
I agree doesn't make sense to get worked up over trying to plan a week of relaxation I just needed to know if it was time to start looking for a new way to book, because our trip its DEFINITELY going to happen this year!! LOL We booked on November 11th for May 8-15....we're actually hoping to be able to switch it to a little earlier, which they told us at the time of booking would be no problem. Guess that will be the next thing I try to find out, but at this point, I'm happy to have a TTR confirmation number for any week Also, when I talked to TTR I didn't mention Fun & Sun; just told them I had booked through a travel agency in the states and wanted to confirm that they had received my reservation.
We booked during the original promotion for Feb. We got our cost formation from F&S within 48 hours. Called TTR after that and they gave us the same confirmation number we got from F&S. We called again today and TTR has us booked and paid in full.
Couldn't agree more and I will be making the most educated decision that I can. I just will get worked up when trying to be taken advantage of. Ok, so here is the scoop once and for all speaking with a CSR at each place. TTR= CSR says now, the do have our reservation in their system. and they confirmed my dates and that I am booked through them for the stay, with a confirmation number. The problem is they can't give me the number until they receive payment from F&S. I got it.... no $=no stay F&S= CSR reported to me. waiting for management to call -yes, the promo was in the system. -yes, it was a mistake/glitch in what their reports ran through from TTR for pricing in their internal system. - They did sell out of the "package" due to the cost they labeled it as. - It should have been $199/nt. - They can't and won't honor the $99 a night because they aren't affiliated with them anymore. -they can book you at $199/nt or give a full refund -they are instructed to not give out names or any contact info of management as a CSR. This is sounding shadier by the minute. I have logged all the conversations and email correspondence in regards to this matter so far. I informed them all I, and the other people I know that did get the $99/nt pricing, want is to have F&S honor what they promised and what we paid for. I will be contacting all authorities now. No one should be taken advantage like this! It is like going to the store, having clearance signs all over bringing the items you love up to the counter, ringing them up, paying for them and then before you can leave the store they say... "sorry the sale ended after you checked out so we will need the full price before you can leave the store" If any one would like me to use their information in regard to this matter please contact/PM me with the following info... - real names - email address (if willing) - date of purchase - date charged - total cost paid to F&S - dates of reservation - number of times you have contacted F&S to try and resolve the problem along with any "solutions" they offered you. Thanks all Scott
