I've had to do both! Bought a new case that is a few kilos lighter (new type of plastic apparently!), and gave in and got the extra 5kgs option today as well! Just beware, if you're flying Thomas Cook, you can only add the extra 5kg option up to 5 days before your flight, otherwise you'll pay through the nose for it at the airport! It's £20 each way, so if you're taking lots of consumables such as toiletries you could possibly get away with getting the 5kg option for the outbound flight only.
How is it that I am packed and have extra everything and my suitcase is partially empty and under weight by 5 lbs... :huepfen021:
tiny I guess your outfits must be a lot smaller than mine lol xx think i need 40kg extra lol.. would be cheaper to buy an extra seat lol
I'm dead on 15kg now and my suitcase is about 5kg so I think if I gets a lighter case should be fine. I've already checked in online so nor sure if I can add the extra luggage thingy
Unfortunately not...once you've checked in, that's it. There's some really great cases out there now though. 5kg for a case is quite a lot. Even our big cases we took last trip only weighed 3.6kg each.
2 more sleeps....Shannon and i are toying with some last minute costumes for me...Hope you guys will be bold like me so we can all have the same laughs....LOL. Looking forward to seeing some of you again and making new friends. No hang ups..Just good time ahead! Fun Fun Fun!!!
So far, I know my suitcase is well under the weight limit, but I'll still need that plus the carryon for my shoes and . . . personal items. Only SIX more sleeps for us . . . =)
I think I finally figured out the second case dilema. I'm going to try and stuff all my non clothes into my backpacking bag from my hostel days in europe so I can avoid a full second case. At least it will be easier to lug around. Going to try and re-pack for the 5th time!
I guess we are all having the same dilemmas with packing! I told John we will definitely need to check a 3rd bag. It sucks that it will cost us an extra $40, but what can you do? Gotta have our stuff, right? Only 2 and a half days of work, then Thanksgiving, some Black Friday shopping and last minute packing and THEN IT'S TIME FOR PARTYING!
