Hey, it's finally time for me to experience Spring Break in Cancun. I know it's gonna be a crazy good time and I can't wait. Since I've never gone before, I have a few questions I'm hoping some of you can help me out with. I'm going with 3 girlfriends and we're all 24 years old. - When is the best time to go? We were thinking early February or early March. Trying to avoid the younger crowds although I know that's impossible. - I've heard so many things about the Oasis - which one should I stay at? Grand? Is it as grimey as I've heard? I know that's where all the parties are but I've heard some bad things about the rooms (although not really important seeing as we'll be drunk on the beach the whole time). Thanks for your help!
Hey just to give some info, we are booked at the Gran Caribe Real March 2-9...I have stayed here before during Canadian spring break and it is a really nice resort, great food, very clean rooms. You still get the party atmosphere here but at a much nicer resort...beach parties, music...I am sure its not as crazy as the Oasis but a much nicer place to stay and also it is a lot closer to the clubs and is it rated as second choice for student city. My friends stayed at the Oasis a couple years back and they said the rooms were shitty and the food wasn't great at all. So i guess if you want a party and an enjoyable resort look at the Gran Caribe Real but if you an all out party and don't care about food or your room conditions stay at the Oasis. I dunno if anyone else can comment on this, hope it helps!
I would say the whole of march will be pretty crazy, so i would be looking to go around march time, am personally going on the 9th-23rd staying at grand caribe real. As the poster above said just want to stay at a nicer place and maybe still get a party. Will prob go to oasis a few days though. About the oasis i last stayed there in 2009 it was brilliant great party hotel. Downsides would be queuing ages for drinks even when tipping and quality of food. We stayed in phase 2 of the oasis that year but seemed most breakers got put into phase 1. Our room was clean and 2 double beds so was happy, seems like phase 1 would take a pounding from all the partying though.
