Some of us don't have much choice where to go (those of us who live in Cancun). As Zurc mentioned above I have had treatment at Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry several times and have no complaints so far. I've been to 3 or 4 dentists in Cancun over my 8 years here and prefer CCD above all the others. English speaking, nice clean premises, act like a business and don't develop their X rays in a cardboard box with a curtain over it like other dentists here do. Dentist reviews are like hotel reviews, those that have had bad service tend to make the most noise. I am sure that not all procedures go 100% right but that is the same anywhere. Folks that have enjoyed a good result dont tend to mention it. Have to say, I do think that American dentists are going to suggest you stick with them
Well in both our cases we have broken fillings, here, even with insurance we're looking at around 550.00 per tooth. I've sent an email to the dental clinc Zurc suggested and see how it goes. thank for all the comments and suggestions
Wow that's crazy! Thank goodness we have NHS over here. I had dental work (a filling) for a tooth I'd cracked around 6 months ago, and everything (initial check-up, x-ray, follow-up check-up and treatment) cost me about £49 (around $78). The only reason I had to pay as well was because I have a job. If I didn't work, was under 18 or pregnant, then that treatment would be free.
Hmmm yes dental is expensive here, with what insurance kicks in it's over a grand, 1067.00 or 1144.00 per tooth. So if we can find it cheaper in Cancun will give it a try.. and to be honest if Steve is recommending the place I trust his judgement.
I have a cousin who has essentially had her whole mouth redone in multiple trips to Mexico (not Cancun) and has been very happy with the work. Like Steve said, there's good and bad professionals everywhere. I had a dentist here in Canada who was really rough and was subsequently tossed out of the profession. Have a great trip, Jeff and Deb!
Thanks hon, like everything everyone has either negitive or positve comments.. we've heard many people have their dental work done in Mexico and have been very happy. My approach is information, we may or may not have the work done in Cancun its nice to have options.
There's no way those prices are for fillings (the $1000, not your price). That has to be the price for crowns, which might be high depending on the area of the country.
