We are here from the 24th Oct and really need to know what the dress code is for dinner. Do I need to pack trousers, shirt and shoes?

I say yes, that has been our experience although others may have had a different experience. Not worth getting turned away. I wish we could ditch the shoes at least for sandals. They're hot and take up too much room to pack.

Officially guys are supposed to where long pants and closed toe shoes although I have seen many get away with shorts and sandals. I would recommend bringing the pants and closed toe shoes to be on the safe side, plus the ladies usually like to dress up and prefer their men to do the same. Just my opinion. Have fun. We arrive the 26th, hope to meet you.

Wear the shoes and pack the sandals. :D Switch up when you get to Cancun and leaving just before you check your luggage. That way you avoid the hassle of having to pack your shoes.

We tried the shirt & shoes, it was a little tough and actually bland. Another
couple next to us had the socks and said it was really good!

I took a couple of pairs of Toms, they where perfect for it, nice and cool and super light weight, and linen trousers worked well
