Here is my suggestion. First of all, go to mardigrasoutlet.com. I have used them a few times and I must say that they are excellent. The quality of the beads, the prices, the turnaround time and their customer service was all great. I saw one set of beads that I think would work great for both of you. One is a "dancing chilli pepper" and the other is a "drunk chilli pepper". Chilli peppers are fiery hot and used when cooking - esp in Mexico cuisine. Anyway, the two beads make a his and her matching set. It may be a reach, but I think it would work. Good story to tell people over beers anyway (any story is good over beers). There are lots of others to chose from if you don't like that one. There is still time to place the order and get them as I believe they gaurantee 7 days turnaround after you place the order.

It is like a necklace of flowers. If you google "Hawaii flower necklace" or "Leis", you should be able to see some examples. In North America, you can buy cheap plastic imatation from the dollar stores. The resort is holding a Polynesian Night theme so the leis correspond with that. Just an excuse to meet and chat with others.
