Okay so I just tried to book my April trip on alpharooms. It wasn't taking my credit card so I tried a different one still no luck. I checked both credit cards and they were both charged twice. I'm hoping Alpharooms makes it right as I've emailed my concern. Anyone else have this issue? :angrymad:
OMG that's not good. I'm sure they'll be able to reimburse you, but the question is how long will it take. I was thinking of booking through alpharooms before i booked elsewhere, hopefully it's just an isolated issue.
I just booked through a travel agent, and I still ended getting a great deal. Saves most types of headaches caused by booking on your own. Unless its directly through a specific resort website. I hope they reimburse you quickly though.
Steve has promoted Alpharooms on here for a long time and lots of people have had success. I wouldn't get overly concerned right now. Call them, and see what they can do. At worst call your credit card company and protest the charges. Good thing is you have a lot of time to get it straightened out and fixed
Extra rooms in April? You might as well just give them away. Wonder who would be able to take them, hmmmm?
We have used alpharooms before successfully. Responses to emails do take a couple days but rest assured they will get back to you. I am sure they will make it right, just will take some time. If they don't let everyone know as I am sure they would then lose a lot of business and maybe you could transfer the reservation like pointed out above. We have taken a two year break (making babies) and plan to return in April or may 2013 so if the dates align who knows.
From what I've gathered TTR sounds like a perfect place for making babies, so your break may be unjustified! ;-)
Hopefully this gets all straightened out for you. I do know that when trying to use a North American credit card online for a European based company, things work a little different. It will 'post' a purchase, then 'charge' a purchase. The 'post' charge will be manually deleted, but that can take a few days, so you will see 2 transactions if you check right away. I would suggest waiting until you get your monthly statement. The update is usually taken care of by then. You will probably find that everything is sorted correctly. I don't know what Alpharooms policy is, but most companies will require a copy of your monthly statement before they refund any incorrect or double payments.
Thanks everyone. I'm beaming with excitement because we got it figured out. Called alpharooms and they were very helpful. Sorry kristinanddoug and dikfor however I would have totally shared. Now the countdown begins. We're going back April 13-20 officially our first time
