Really?? That desperate? I'm sure its a joke video as I don't think they would use the movie voiceover guy like that... As much as I would HATE to see PBS go away because of that... Its SESAME STREET!! You don't think nick/disney/ABC/CBS would pick the show up? Or that they would just beg for more money than they do now? And come on... Why isn't obama bitching about losing antiques roadshow!?!?
For the cost of what the US gov pays PBS, even bringing it up was a dumb idea by M.R. Its like a billionth of the budget. I saw this add on the news the other day, pretty funny little commercial tough. Nice to see a non 'direct' attack campaign add.
It isn't the cost that is the issue, but the fact that we are a nation that is now so far in debt that every single person in the US now owes over $50,000. We need to start cutting somewhere and that is one of the places where there may be some fat. As Senator Everett Dirksen used to say, "Hey, a billion here and a billion there and pretty soon you're talking some real money!" The key to cutting the deficit is to make some small cuts here and there which would amount large cuts in the long run. BTW, the producers of Sesame Street have objected to Obama's use of Big Bird in his ads as has AARP objected to Obama invoking their name.
