Hello guys, So last year me and couple friends (all of us are college age kids) took a trip to Cancun and we loved it. We are coming back this January :headbanger: I know that Oasis is the place where all the party people go, but I heard that food and service were not so good so we stayed at Omni. Everything was great, however not too many people of our age stay there. Maybe you guys could suggest some other hotels with more party people? I heard that Grand Oasis is better than Oasis, but not sure if everybody in our group will be 21. If everybody will be 21 would Grand Oasis something we could consider? What about RIU CANCUN? Temptation? this would probably be more couple oriented? Thanks for you help!
Temptation is well Temptation and I would recommend it since there are always single people there as well. I was at Riu Cancun in 2006 and we went with a group of friends and had a blast! It is better in terms of food, but had a lively atmosphere with a good crowd. Coco Bongo and other clubs are walking distance of the resort. There is a little disco on the resort for pre party drinks, although when we were there, we drank so much that we ended up skinny dipping in the pool. Too bad we got kicked out.
If you are into partying, Temptation is party central. And at Temptation you CAN skinny dip in the pool without getting kicked out, to an extent of course.
Depends on Where you Want to be..... You are on the right track. The Grand Oasis is the party place. The question is, where do you want to be? If your group likes to go out into the town at night (Daddy O's, Congo Bongo, Etc.) then you might want to stay closer. Examples: Riu, Live Aqua, Hard Rock, Etc. You can go onto Google Earth and do a virtual drive down Kukulcan to see where you'd like to stay closer to town. If you are the resort type a group that hangs out at the hotel mostly and uses the resort amenities then Gran Melia, J.W. Marriott, or Fiesta Americana is nice. But, Grand Oasis has both party scene & resort feel. The ride into town at night should be around a $13-15 taxi ride each way (10-15 Minutes). Hope this helps. We stayed at Gran Melia next door. Awesome Hotel with nice pool & amenities. Service could have been a little better. But, it was central and semi close to town & the night clubs. They had a rental car company on location; which made things very convenient when traveling the area. I'd stay at the Grand Oasis on the next visit.
BTW, You also might consider the Palace properties. Get the benefits of all the resorts while staying at only one. In my opinion the best is Aventura Spa Palace. But, there is Moon Palace, Beach Palace & Sun Palace. There was Cancun Palace, but I think it turned into the Hard Rock. And, Xpu-Ha Palace, but not sure what happened to that one. They are all inclusive too.. Lastly, consider going to VRBO.com and renting a private condo or villa. You can find some really good deals from private owners and it feels more like home than a resort. Just something more to consider. Hope it helps.
Didn't see the Temptations post. Looks like Vegas. Doesn't matter where you stay I guess. It all depends on your objective. Have fun either way.
We are planning on going out pretty much every night, so RIU CANCUN would be nice because of the location but Grand Oasis is not too bad either. Omni is right by Oasis and we were paying $10 for taxi. Temptation is about the same distance from the strip as Oasis just to different direction. Actually a little bit closer. I think we are down to these three RIU CANCUN, Temptation, and Grand Oasis. If someone wont be 21 then the only choice is RIU CANCUN, but if thats not the case then we don't know. Crowd is my concern. Its a lot more fun if there are more party people staying at the same hotel. I am still confused lol. So all three places have pretty good crowd of drunks, but Grand Oasis would have the most?
Temptation isn't the best choice for 20-something guys. Crowd is generally older (40's), and the M/F ratio is about 10/1 when it comes to singles.
Better in terms of food compared to both Grand Oasis and Temptation? Temptation is party central? I heard Grand Oasis and Oasis is. I always thought of temptation as couple oriented resort, with not too many single people. What age group of people usually stay there? if there are decent amount of 21-28 year old people then maybe its not a bad option.
