Didn't watch it. Figure I'd get the same amount of anger/bullshit/lost brain cells from watching honey boo boo instead.
Actually didn't change my mind as much as give me a renewed hope. Was surprised to hear the comments afterwards on the usually really Obama supportive media. Comments like "The Romney that the Obama camp has been describing for the last few months of a whack job that would throw grandma under the bus... didn't show up tonight. Instead a well spoken thoughtful and likeable guy came instead." Switch to CBS and they were saying "Romney made this comment and Obama really missed the chance to hammer him on this and that... And the point Obama was trying to drive home was ......" Almost like damn Obama blew it, here's what he should have said..... Plus Romney made some good points against tired old sayings like "Why do we give Exxon 4 Billion in subsidies when they already make a profit every time you go to the pump?" Romney shot back, "Um.. it's only been that was for the last 100 years, most of that money does not go to Exxon but the small independent drillers that are basically gambling on every well they drill and it's NOT 4 billion but only 2.8 billion. And while we are on the subject, what about the 90 Billion you gave to green companies, that contributed large to you campaign fund that are no longer here? That’s almost 50 years of oil subsidies in 4 years... It's not like you've been picking winners and losers, you just pick losers!" I wasn't going to watch but ended up watching the end part and actually enjoyed it even though the moderator clearly gave Obama extra time to try and dig himself out but clearly couldn't. I had the impression of a man that for the last 4 years has had a one sided conversation once he siad "Look here's the key point....." everyone would then back down and he could ramble on. That didn't happen last night and he clearly didn't like it and was totally unconformable with it. I think people got a glance under the curtain... Jamie
ed in the grand scheme of thngs im sure it does not matter - but since you asked was quite impressed with mitt found obama saying the same bullshit he has said for the last 6 years - trust him about as much as that idiot michael moore....no take that back - less!!! rob
Ahh Rob, I have to agree with you and with Jamie. I think Obama looked lost and confused. Kind of like the old movie "Dazed and Confused" every time he talked. Mitt basically called Obama a liar and Obama had no comeback. I came away with a more favorable impression of Romney and a less favorable impression of Obama. BTW, there is a great ad that is on the internet and I don't know if it has been on network TV. It shows Obama making speeches in 2008 and now. In both of them he's just saying the same things now, even using the same words, that he said four years ago and he has not accomplished even one thing he said he was going to do. With this guy's track record it is incredible to me that he stands even a ghost of a chance of winning. I guess it shows how far we have sunk.
simply amazing that any person (liberal, conservative democrat, republican, jew, gentile, gay, bi, bi-curious, transgenders, poor, wealthy, ho, bitch, bastard and bum) could make the decision to vote for that bozo for president. just befuddles me mr ed why?! rob
Rob, I think the answer to that is just two words....Free Stuff! That's free food, free housing, free college for your kids, free cell phones, free minutes, free fill in the blanks. Give to those that don't work and they shall vote for you forever.
im not a history major but that sounds a lot like what happened in greece doesnt it? - will never forget the caption on the wall above all of the dead at the jonestown debacle "those who do not remember the past, are doomed to repeat it" can't say we did not know when we end up like greece can we?! the new caption will read "those whom are not entirely ignorant of the past, but choose to be conveniently gullible and not give a shit are doomed to repeat it just as well as those who do not remember it" just saying rob
I watched on CNN for a while, and watched the momentum bar more than I actually listened to what they were saying. Based on how the bar moved every time they talked, I was surprised by just how much women like Obama and don't like Romney. Overall, I thought watching the debate was about like listening to a bad CD that keeps repeating the same song over and over. The next two may be a little better. The VP debate has to scare the Dems a lot with not having any idea what Biden will spit out. Not sure how Ryan will do.
Based on the reports, it sounds like I missed something by not watching. I was glad to hear the Romney got his act together and made sense with what he said. One of these two men will end up being President, so I, for one, was happy to hear Romney had done well.
