Very funny, Rene . I actually thought that my camera was in the suitcase from the previous trip (since it rarely leaves the suitcase, as you well know), and then when I got to Cancun I realized it wasn't with me. So I seem to be becoming a progressively worse photo-loser with each trip. The first trip I took 4 photos. The next trip my camera never made it out of the room safe. This trip, I didn't even bring the damn thing! Next trip, I am going to buy a disposable waterproof camera so I don't have to worry about losing it, and cart it down to the pool every day. Maybe. lol
Don't worry - you will be very safe sticking next to Cancuncare folk! We look after each other. I wouldn't consciously make a choice for one of you to drink and the other remain sober. Have you ever been around somebody who is drunk when you're sober? Or when you're drunk and your partner is frowning at your drunken antics? Both are not fun! Best times we had were when we both drank a little, but weren't 'wasted'. Space drinks out, drink water in between (dehydration is a HUGE factor in displaying some of the symptoms in posts above) and also note how drunk your significant other is getting...if they look a little too far gone, space their drinks more. Also don't fall foul of peer pressure - others will be doing shots non-stop. I know in the hot weather I can't handle shot after shot and have to space out with low alcohol and soft drinks. Still also worth remembering even hanging out with people you know and trust, always use a cup with a lid, and never leave it unattended even for a minute. Don't accept drinks off people unless you've seen them being prepared, don't be afraid to decline a drink. Off topic a bit, but also good point to remember, if you're going somewhere without your partner, make sure they know where you're going and who you'll be with...if plans change make sure you let them know. I fell foul of this rule on our first trip one night when I stayed late at Paty O with a friend, whilst my husband who was partied out went to bed. My sister-in-law who'd gone up to bed earlier that night came back down for a drink and without thinking, I accepted an invitation to go up and drink beers in her room, when a drunk guy who was pestering us wasn't getting the message to f'off. As I was 'safe' with my sister-in-law I completely forgot to let my husband know where I was and who I was with, and all hell nearly broke loose when he came back out to Paty O to look for me and I wasn't there. The main thing is to have fun but stay safe and don't let your guard down i.e. be sensible as you would at home.
I take a Quantum Leap at least once everytime we come to TTR. I seriously doubt it was anything other than my ability to slam drinks like it's my job. Why someone would want to drug me? The worst thing that I did was dominate a flinestone portion of nachos before passing out. 'I had nachos? When?'...still a big joke at my house.
I hear what you're saying....and I appreciate the great advice. Since I hope we will be hanging out together since we're there at the same time, I will follow your lead. I hope you won't mind showing us newbies the ropes....I think we'll have a great time! Can't wait to meet you guys and everyone else from the Crewe! Hurry November 24th!
I would luv to find the freak's that do this crap to people ... Totally sad ... Have them go to jail in cancun for two weeks .... Justice ...
