This Forum offers a great wealth of information and some members are most friendly and helpful. I thank all those you offered me answers to my queries. However some people don't seem to have a life and do nothing but post. They impose their views, thereby blocking discussion, and end up discouraging people like myself and other newcomers. Unfortunately their low quality impoverishes the pluri-logues. I thank you all for your help, but cannot continue reading and posting under such interactive climate. Best to you all, Dr. ED. N.
Sorry to hear you are not having a good experience. I just take some with a grain of salt and others I just ignore them all together.
"some people don't seem to have a life and do nothing but post....." Amen.... But don't give up just because of a few "DICKHEADS"....:brick:
It's kind of funny, this living in Cancun section has about 5% of the post volume and 95% of the drama. Even the Spring Break youngsters seem to be able to ignore people they don't get along with without having to comment about it. Handy hint: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/profile.php?do=ignorelist
Steve!!! Perhaps it is an "age thing".??? But - it is more fun than sitting at home picking yer nose.....................
I seriously can't believe this is an issue again!!!! This is a public forum and things are discussed beyond "where can I get a good cookie". We are also adults, I think. And as adults, we can make choices to read/respond or not read/not respond to the hundreds of posts listed in each forum. To make such attacks about people not having lives cause they post too much is kind of harsh. And it makes the number of registered members not post at all in fear of an "attack" CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!! Or just ignore what offends you or bores you. Easy peasy.
Well said.....!! BUT there are some topics which some members never know when to give up.!!!! I just learned that when you click on the total # of posts on a topic - a window open to show not only the total # of replies BUT also which members have replied and how many times each has responded, as well..!!!
Well, yeah, some posters are a little overzealous and pedantic. It's kinda like a car crash...you just can't stop watching. However, I do remember that one of your goals of moving to Cancun was to see if you couldn't make social connections that'd make your stay more worthwhile and long-term. If that is still true, by being unable to ignore certain posters who get under your skin, you are also missing out on an opportunity to form off-the-Net relationships with some of these very nice and helpful people.
No longer my goal to move to Cancun - as i just may meet some of these overzealous & pedantic people...............:deadhorse:
Let's see, the population of Cancun is roughly 600,000 according to Wikipedia. Let's say 25,000 are english speaking ex-pats, 10% are worth talking to and another 10% are accesible... That leaves at least 250 people bare minimum I'd like to get to know better? Good odds at worst. Cancun is a great place.
