What makes 2nd, 3rd.... trips at TTR better than the first?

Been twice & just booked our third trip for June next year....what makes it better? All the things mentione, but primarily, knowing what to expect & how to make the most of it...we love it, shame it's so far.

Hi guys - we are thinking of going back next july/august - depending on my summer schedule. When are you guys going?

 

Wednesday will be our third time and I have to say that being familiar is a big plus. If you know where things are, what's going on, the theme nights ect... I found Cancuncare right before going the first time and it helped. However, it was the best meeting people and having an idea of who was there the second time. It is such a great time with all the people that you meet and all with the same mind set of just having a good time. The people we have met there have all been great. No drama like the mistake of taking the kids to Cancun for spring break this year. NEVER AGAIN! Just the wife and I to TTR otherwise with the family to Playa Del Carmen which is nice but not fun like TTR.

 

First time:
--You waste half an hour at check-in because you don't realize you can say "no" to the "introductory meeting" with the timeshare rep
--You accept a room with no bathroom door because you don't know they aren't all like that
--Your first time at the sexy pool, you sit there awkwardly watching the antics of the big groups
--It takes a few days to loosen up enough to take your top off
--By the time you finally fall into the groove, it's time to go home

Repeat trip:
--You bypass timeshare pitch and head right to quiet pool cuz you know that's the fastest way to get a drink
--You turn down any rooms with awkward bathrooms or too much noise and get the perfect set-up
--Friends who have been waiting for you at the sexy pool are yelling "hey!" as you're walking up.
--Tops? We don't need no stinkin' tops!
--You know the dates of your next trip even before you go home!

 

Exactly, or if you become a member, you get a separate check in that is so fast, it takes longer to down the beer you just got, and you already know you will have a good room.

The pool comment is spot on as well.

Totally agree with this! We have been three times and each trip was different, but repeat trips are better at TTR because you really can make the most of the experience every single day and night when you already understand what to expect. You can read the forum and talk to people, but until you go there you just don't understand because it is not like any other vacation spot you will ever visit :wink3:

The best thing we did was stay super connected with the people from the forum who were overlapping their trips with ours - made the 2nd and 3rd trips WAY better, and we have made so many new Real friends that way!

 

Been there 9 times...the more you go the more it becomes a home away from home. You meet new friends..Get to hang out with old friends and get more familiar with the staff members that work so hard to make TTR so special for us.

Guys whether or not we get the free week with the contest, we will save enough to return - whether it will be next summer or not. Putting all these photos up brings sweet memories of TTR. Did not think I would miss it as much as I do!!!

 

Chango, the answer to all three of your core questions is an unequivocal "Yes!"

We knew what to expect, knew that it was not only normal, but expected, to be extroverted and meet people, speak up and go a little crazy with the partying, like that. Now that we "know" it's going to be that way, you can just relax and enjoy the hell out of everything.
