AWOL World is a travel group. Over the last 9 years we have gathered friends from our trips to Jamaica and 5 years ago we created AWOL, and now AWOL World. It is a group of people from all over the US, Canada, and even a few other countries who get together every July/August for a week of partying. In the past it has always been at Hedo 2 or Hedo 3. We decided that it was time to check out somewhere new and Temptation Resort fit the bill. We are a very inclusive group of people whose only real agenda is to have fun, make friends, and BE NICE. We are affiliated with Castaways Travel in the Houston Texas area and the group leaders do this as a hobby, not a job. We organize meet and greets before the trip, have special theme nights, excursions, and parties during the trip (usually open to everyone- that's how we roll), and act as go betweens for our members should they have a problem with anything during the trip. We also provide welcome bags and a few other little perks for our members. We don't charge anything to join and our only requirement to be part of the group is to book through Castaways and tell them you want to be part of AWOL World. Easy as that. Thanks for asking! Sounds a little like us then Except cancuncare doesn't require you to book through us to meet up with the group. I'm fully aware of the commissions TTR pay for group bookings. It must be a lucrative hobby Please tell Castaways Travel if they want their events advertised here to please get in touch. Until then no promotional sig links please.
It is in fact, a good hobby. It is one that we take part in nearly every day between trips- amongst the rest of everything else that goes on in day to day life. To be clear, we receive no cash for this- just the opportunity to travel when our financial circumstances dictate otherwisee. I was not aware that Cancuncare was a travel agent- my bad, I did not mean to step on any toes. We think we have a great core of people who have decided to make the jump to Temptation after years at hedo and wanted to get the word out. We managed to go from 0 to 100 people in just 2 years largely due to forums like this and the ambassadorship of the people who have travelled with us and were so happy with their experience that they started recruiting friends and strangers on resort and off. As far as the red coat goes, never been a used car salesman- saw the red suit in the window and had to have it. My only other suit is yellow and comes with a helmet- I don't dress up much so when I do I want to wear something I truly like! Nick (and the contrite Kitty)tm
Thing is, every long-time Cancuncare member knows that the Boobs Cruise is the most awesome cruise that you can take in Cancun. We do everything we can to make sure Cancuncare is as profitable as possible to make sure the cruise continues because you just can't beat it. One of the main reasons the cruises happen so often is because of this site, and as an aside, Steve earns commission from strategic partners he recommends such as a link through alpha rooms, USA Transfers and TTR itself. If you look back through posts Steve is very honest about the commission he gets every time somebody clicks a link through Cancuncare. Nobody has yet complained about this - this is because I'm sure like a majority we want to make sure Steve remains profitable so he can continue Cancuncare and the Boobs Cruise. Why would anyone want to click a link to book through another travel agency to join another group, when you get the whole package at Cancuncare? Not stirring waves, just pointing out the obvious.
Trish- thanks for your comments. As I said, I was not aware that this site was that of a travel agent. Many other forums including ones I am on are not directly affiliated with an agency. We did not mean to step on toes. We certainly didn't mean to cut into anyone's income- not what we're about. Fact is, we have decided to give Temptation a try and we are bringing our group. Aside from just regularly participating on this forum and becoming a part of this community we don't plan on any more posts like the one that led this thread off. Respect. i did not know this was a travel agency site either, thought it was like the adult travel forum which i participate in when we are getting ready for trips to hedo. i had gotten on this one to prepare and get excited about our trip to TTR when we went last year. we are a part of AWOL and are excited to try TTR with that group. if you all knew nick, he is not one to try and dig up business, but it is fun to go as a group with people you have met previously.
