Coming from Canada, you must have been sitting on the right hand side of the plane to have the shade down? How annoying is it when the sun is shining right through your window!? Bloody hot" Obsessive as I am this year I've paid extra for my plane seat and made sure my seat doesn't reflect directly into the sun on the way there. I'm the sad person that likes looking out the window on a flight!

 

I like to look out the window too. Try and figure out where over the US we are (probably not as easy for you over the ocean!). I think we were watching a movie more than the sun but I could be wrong. We left fairly early in the day and this was just when we got on the plane. We had only had a couple of "BullDogs" while waiting to board at that point.

 

I've a phobia where I *have* to look out the window or 2 hours into our 11 hour flight I'd freak out. Thankfully, I've a weird personality where I'll happily look out a window and watch clouds for 5 hours straight! That means paying $90 extra to guarantee a window seat, but it's worth it for me
