Cancun in general is a lovely place to holiday, so you could always try TTR next time!

Spending thousands of dollars on a vacation is a huge decision and commitment. I'm sure you had spent adequate time researching both resorts and coming to your decision. If GP is what you chosen, then it is probably the right decision for you. Vacation is about fun, relaxation, and no regrets... You are booked and leaving in 22 days, don't look for reasons that may not make you enjoy your vacation. Have the best time you possibably can, if you think something was missing, explore other options the next time.

I too have chosen GP this year.I've gone to TTR the last two years and loved it.I just wanted to try something different this time.I know GP's not as wild as TTR,but it will still be a good time. It's a big world with a lot to see and experience so go out and explore and enjoy!

Here is an option. Go to TTR for a day. They sell day passes. Then you will know next time if and where to go. TTR is for some an not others

Like I had said in another thread. Alpharooms has rooms double occupancy for the next month listed at $66 last time I checked. Even if its under $100, go for the day + night. This way you can experience both, get a day away from where you are and truly experience both.

Regardless I am sure you will have a good time. Make sure to let us know about your trip.

It's a good idea to read some of the trip reports here. Keep in mind that everyone has different likes and dislikes and expectations. And the feel of a resort changes with the guest that are there.

We used the trip reports to gain a better understanding of the layout of the resort, what people thought the best places to eat are, etc.

I can tell you that the beach is much better than TTR's. Having an elevator to get to your room was a real plus. We upgraded to an oceanview room on the fifth floor when we arrived. Well worth it in my opinion..the view was great.

The party people hang out at the bar just past the pool. It's much smaller than Paty'O's at TTR but they seemed to be having fun.

We actually went for three nights after being at TTR for seven. We went to rest up before going back home so we avoided the party. We tend to party pretty hard at TTR...lol.

I would suggest getting a pass late in your vacation to visit TTR to see if it something you would like to try next time. Don't do it early... if you really like TTR you'll be bummed out the rest of your vacation going back to GP.

Overall we found the food slightly better than TTR. Neither are five stars so don't expect top notch cuisine.

The people we met were friendly and I'm sure we would have had fun partying if that had been our goal.

    Don't stress...you'll have fun :)
