    Question for you frequent travelers.....

Hubby and I are returning to TTR late August. We are only bringing carryons this time since it is a short trip. Our flight departs TTR at 1:30 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 1. We want to maximize our time that day before our return flight. We've used USA Transfers several times and they are top notch. However, on the return flight, they pick you up 1.5 hours before your scheduled flight. That would be Noon. Since we only have carryons, has anyone asked USA Transfers to pick them up later - say 12:30 or 12:45 and make it to the airport OK?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thx.

We always just push our flight departure time back on the reservation form so we are not sitting in the Cancun airport for hours. It takes hardly any time at all to check-in for your flight and go through security in Cancun. So just put that your flight leaves whatever time you want to accommodate your needs.

I'd say it also depends what airline you are flying. We flew Delta and with the self check in kiosks it was a breeze.

American and United do not have those and people were waiting in insanely long lines.

Going through security was fast and efficient.

I think they closed our doors to our plane about 20 minutes before departure.

Hope that helps a bit. We had a 130 flight and USA picked us up at 1045. We had time to eat lunch, shop a bit and chill before our flight. In retrospect we couldve left the hotel about 30-45 minutes later and still been fine.

    THANKS!!!

This time, we are flying SunCountry Airlines.

I think I'm going to push USA out 30 minutes this trip.

We don't need all that time to shop, eat, chill..... would rather spend those last few precious minutes at the sexy pool, soaking up the rays and having a few last minute cocktails! We can eat when we land! :)

USA Transfers usually wants 3:00 hrs, and I have them pick us up 1:45 prior to departure time and that works out good. I am a risk taker, but would not want to try it in less than 1:30 before.

1:30 is really pushing it imho. If there's a hold up on the main road, which happens often, there's no real way round it and it could mean the difference between making your flight or not.

I know USA Transfers are not keen on cutting it to the wire, because if there is something that causes a hold up they don't like to be held responsible for a late arrival.

Our return flight is at 1:30 pm. I'm having USA T pick us up at
11:15 a.m. this time. We'll just keep playing with the pickup time each time we go to TTR. Don't want to cut it too close, but..... still don't want to sit in the airport more than I have to.
