$15 per day for Wi-Fi. They have a computer in the lobby that is cheaper than that. They also have a computer at the little corner store outside the resort that is a lot cheaper.

See you guys in a couple days!

Hey the only bummer is that you only get wifi (strong) in the Lobby area. Last year we said not worth bring laptop again.... But then again I'll use any excuse to not have to work on Vacation!

I got strong wifi signal in quite a few areas last week so maybe they have upgraded their WiFi. I was able to use my tab in my room (overlooking the quiet pool), at the quiet pool, and at the buffet....actually pretty much anywhere I was. I gladly paid the $15 as we didn't spend much compared to other trips to Cancun...we had so much fun at PatyOs at night we skipped the club zone. They said it was for 24 hours but for whatever reason it stayed on for 48. If you have a smartphone, iOS or Android there is an app called text + that let's you text over WiFi. Great for keeping in touch with the fam back home.

Hi guys!! Thank you for the answers. Do you pay for the internet prior to using if or at the end of you stay. We will be there for 14 days .... so I'd hate to see a huge bill at the end if for some reason they charge us for every day!!
We are thinking about backing up our photos.... and maybe videos on the laptop.

Why is it that $34.99/night motels can offer free unlimited WIFI for their guest, and a place like TR has to screw their guest over like that? Disney Resorts don't even charge anymore for WIFI.

I always get the wifi and pay as I go. Usually the 24 hours of wifi lasts up to 2 days actually, so I order it one day at a time. When it runs out I go to the front desk and ask for another day. You just sign for it and it is added to your room bill. Usually for 7 days I pay for 4-5 days of wifi.:D

We have had similar experiences each year. We always plan to get it every other day (financially). Basically it is $15/24hours. We use computer to skype home (helps the child feel better to see us). This last June, we got a good signal from our room (1st Floor by Paty O's) and it was good enough to transmit video - but not very fast. Just barely fast enough for skyping even when we had a full signal strength. Our theory is that they throttle back what they allow people to use (or internet is really that bad in Mexico in general).

What we do is start the internet (by going to the front desk) and ask them for a day, say around 10/11 a.m. The next morning we will skype home, check email whatever we need before the previous day's time (10/11 a.m). That way we get what we need for the price of 1 day. IF (and I say IF) the internet is not still on the 3rd day, then we ask for it again. When we went in June we had internet for 6 of our 9 days and payed for 3 days. One day they didn't have internet working early enough in the morning and we went on the Boobs Cruise in the afternoon, so there was no no no way I would be skyping home AFTER the cruise...LOL.

They usually bill us at the end. They would probably let you pay upfront if you asked them to, but we just take enough cash to pay at the end.

Have fun!! wow! 14 days!! Enjoy!

Tell Yanni and Raquel Hi for Jeff (Raquel's Mexican boyfriend, who was there in June)
