Getting quite fed up with the whole guessing game("Hmmm, I wonder how much gas we still have in the tank?"). Does anyone know of a place to get "gas-meters" that one can attach between the tank and the hose? Ps. Starting the oven to cook, only to have it run out if gas when 35 mins of cooking remains, lol...
Can't help you with the meter, but I have 2 tanks and when one runs out I just order online with Zeta gas, tell them to come before 9 a.m the next day and they are always there at 8/8:30 with a fresh tank for me - amazing service. One time I ordered online on a Sunday at 1 p.m. I wanted them to come on Monday morning. 2 hours later there was a knock at my door with a fresh tank on a sunday afternoon!
Mat: Thanks for the tip - Im sure it will be useful I asked the delivery guys(Delta Gas) just now, and they showed me where to buy the meters: Just around the bloody corner of where we live, literally 15 seconds walking distance, haha
Max: Its on Sunyachen(spelling?), across the street from Oxxo. (Its the only Oxxo on our street ) Havent checked them yet myself, but do know that they have tons of accessories for gas-stuff.
The place is called AGUILAR. I have bought things from them over the years. Nice, helpful workers too. Rawkus, I too have a 2nd tank. When one empties, I just switch to the other one and refill the empty at once, before I forget. I use Zeta but now I go to them. With their call in service, they brought me shitty tanks when I had near new ones after signing up for this VIP service. This was a few years ago so may give them another try, like Mat does. Hey Mat, do they give you decent tanks, that at least aren't all rusty and leaking that horrible smell? Can you share how you sign up for the service you use? I just filled a tank this week and it was $232. Is that close to what you pay, without having to go to them, as I do. Thanks
Rawkus, I was going to suggest the store on Sunychen. They should have it. If they don't there is another store that has parts on the corner of Coba and Kabah. It is a small shop a litle bit before Pollo Brujo on the opposite side from Home Depot.
This was the approach I used, too: if there's a downside to it, it's not obvious to me. What it does is guarantee that you always have a supply of gas on hand, and you don't have to monitor your consumption, simply switch when the first runs out, then order before the second one runs out. Historic use tells you about how long one tank will serve, giving you a good idea how long you have to replace the empty one.
Again with the swearing and then quoting a scripture in your signature block. You might want to look at this scripture: Matthew 15:11: "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man."
Two tanks is great, but with limited space in the washing room, not an option Plus, Id simply like to be able to look at the meter and know how much is still in it. Usually we are spot on with the tank emptying. Pretty much 3 months for a 20kg tank, on the day. This time it was a day earlier though. A friend bought a meter in Portillo - ran him about 260 pesos. Not too shabby.
