On August 12th Chinos, along with several present and ex Temptation staff, will be running the Kindness for Cancer 5K/10K. Sponsored by Temptation and also cancuncare.com the race aims to raise money for local cancer charities in Cancun. Many of you will know that Chinos recently underwent treatment for cancer, the success of which is not yet known. During his treatment Chinos never asked anyone for a single dollar, in fact he refused my offer to help raise funds for him personally through the forum. I know that raising a good sum of money for the charity via sponsoring him and his team to run this race would bring a big smile to his face, and a huge sense of personal satisfaction. I am sure that Chinos has made many of your trips all the more fun whether that be at the hotel when he worked there, or on our boobs cruises where he presently works. Now lets return the favour and do something for him and the people that will benefit from the charity. This forum has 600 members log in every day, another 600 or so people visit without logging in. If every one of those people donated just $5 - we'd raise $6000. Please donate whatever you can afford. All donations are anonymous but you may of course mention here if you want. Donations will be managed by Chinos's friend Stephanie Mulhaul and can be made direct to her via the paypal link at the following page: http://www.cancuncare.com/kindnessforcancer.html
Donations have been a little slow, but thank you to those who donated so far. $5 or $10 is not a great deal to ask, but I know it's going to bring a huge amount of personal satisfaction to Chinos, to know he is helping raise money to help others. We still dont know the outcome of Chinos' recent cancer treatment (next check up 12 July) but keeping a strong and positive mindset is going to be of much help to him, and I'm sure a successful donation campaign will help with that.
hi steve, donation just sent in...look forward to seeing you, janet, chinos and omar in oct:aktion030: charlene
Thanks both, much appreciated! I'm seeing this as not only helping future cancer patients in Cancun but that a successful fund raise is going to help Chinos feel positive and stay strong mentally. He's given a lot of good times to many of us, lets return the favour. Let's also not forget, his own battle against cancer is not over yet. Help keep his spirits high!
Sent in the donation. I tried to sign up for the run online, but after a few pages it got a little tricky since it's all in spanish. We will just wait to sign up for the run until we get down there.
