Thats right up there with one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read about TTR. Duh, they open the bottles right in front of you, moron.
BS!!! It's the alcohol - if you can't handle it, don't drink it! And sedated people at the pool?? If they're anything like me, they've overdone it the night before and having a siesta in the sun! It's a well known fact that a lot of 'drugging' claims occur from when people have drank too much or too quickly, and then blame their strange behaviour on somebody drugging them when they've done something they later regret.
And all this time I thought it was my raw animal magnetism causing the wife to get all overheated... aw crap :icon_sad:
Question 1: Which resort does the reviewer work for? Whatever resort it is must be struggling if this is the way that they want to pull some of the business from TTR. Question 2: "Like many resorts in Cancun" they add drugs to their drinks? Why would any resort take the cost and effort to add anything to the drinks that they serve. Would they take the chance on losing customers, i.e. profits, if something like that could be proven? The bottom line is, they are open to make money, not scare customers away. I don't discount the idea that there are idiots that try to add to unguarded drinks at any bar, resort, etc. in the world, but the resort itself... come on. Yes the booze from across the street probably tastes different than the house brand that they serve, but all you have to do is request the label you want of what they have and you can get the the same drink.
Please remove thread. Please remove this thread. It will cause nothing but problems. There is no GHB in the in the drinks. Oh and GHB is not a DRUG. It was an over counter sleep aid that the public was lied to about for not good reason other than for the damn drug companies to make more profits on deadly chemicals.
On the contrary, it shows that the unsubstantiated claims on Trip Advisor are considered bogus by a significant amount of other guests.
So someone overdosing on GHB and all the bad press is worth saving ... what? $10 in liquor not drank? From what I've read on here so far (our first trip is in 7 days and a wake up) there is no shortage of alcohol consumption going on, I seriously doubt that's happening, since obviously it's not working.
I don't think the poster was trying to cause issues but was merely relaying a recent TA review. And being a first timer to the resort was concerned.. I think they knew it was bs.. But was just looking to confirming that.. I don't think their intent was malicious.. But the poster on TA was definitely in the wrong.. And the poster on TA gave the resort like three stars. Which I thought was odd for someone claiming they were going to sue the resort.. People are just not right sometimes...
It's kind of like the letter Budweiser put out years ago saying that they didn't believe there was any truth to the rumors that there was human urine in Corona beer. Turns out that the letter was the source of the rumor. Now just last week Budweiser decided that if you can't stop them, buy them. Jamie
