I know some of you are keen runners and will hopefully be interested in the Temptation Kindness for Cancer Race that will take place on 12 August. Chinos, a good friend of mine who works on our cruises and who is also ex Ents staff at Temptation is currently undergoing treatment for skin cancer and after seeing all the kindness and good wishes towards him wanted to give something back. The proceeds from the race will be donated to local cancer charities in Cancun. Cancuncare.com will be sponsoring this event, we are paying for the race numbers each of which will bear the cancuncare.com logo. I notice that the money amounts are followed by lower case "m.n." I obviously know that this means that these monetary amounts are in Pesos (duh) but I have always seen currencies referred to as MXN, USD, GBP etc. So what does m.n. stand for? I am surprised that I have never seen this before and almost feel dumb asking about it. Good luck to all you runners and to Steve's sponsorship.
I am thinking of getting back out and preparing. I know Chinos from my days at Temp...and of course Steve. Thinking of starting the training Monday.
I'm really tempted... I've never run more than half a mile in my life, but I've been working out a lot and maybe I could train for a 5k. Scared!
I would love too. Unfortunately, my blood circulatory problems mean I wouldn't manage 500 metres let alone 5000.
AFAIK, moneda nacional. That's what I've always thought. I usually don't do 10Ks all the way up there as paquete pickup is a bitch, but if I can do pickup on the day of the race, I'm totally in. Steve, can you get back to me if pickup is the same day (or can be "arranged" for those of us close but near?) TIA!
