Its not a big deal because I'm not very picky when at an all-inclusive but I was wondering what beer they have on tap and in bottles in the rooms..... also my girlfriend is a wine drinker...... mostly merlot..... she isn't overly picky either..... is the wine good enough to keep her happy.....
thanks Sean..... Dos Equis works fine for me...... I've heard people talk about buying wine or hard liquor from the store accross from the hotel and bring it into the hotel...... you think the staff would have a problem with me bringing in a case of Samual Adams or Blue Moon if that store has it...... it would be nice to have a few good beers every so often.....
My wife's a wino, but she never drinks wine, except at dinner, at TTR. The beer is the Dos Equis lager, the green label, which leaves a lot to be desired when compared beer v. beer against the Amber, or brown label. But, it is served cold enough, in the everlasting, always refillable manner, so that part is Excellent! What's your lady drink around a pool? That is a good question to get answers for before sticking her out about the pool at TTR. She's liable to be "body-shotted" before she knows what's going on...
After I joined this forum and found out about the beer of choice, I went and bought both. The amber is waaaaaay better than the lager and my usual is Yeungling, so I was surprised. So long as it's cold and "free", I'll drink it though. I was/am still curious why they don't have Corona.
The way I understand it that corona to the locals is pretty much looked at like our Pabst Blue Ribbon.........:ernaehrung024:
That's probably true, but I'm guessing that the majority of the folks staying at the resort are not locals. I'm sure if there were an all-inclusive in the US, they would definitely be serving Coors Light and/or Bud even though I (local) think they're trash....LOL:daveandmo:
I don't drink beer, but the wine is undrinkable! the management should try and order wine that is at least drinkable, last year it was bad, this year it was worse! Yet in years prior to that the wine was drinkable! Please TTR go back to the old wine you used to stock!
The house red wine should be used for marinade! The house white is passable with food and the sparkling wine gives us a hangover! You do have the option to purchase decent wine at the italian restaurant which we did and both enjoyed the J. Lohr Cabernet, some resorts don't even have that option! We did buy wine at the OXO to drink on our balcony. We didn't know the wineries so it was hit and miss as to the quality! Either way we didn't throw anything away lol. Experiment and try to find a drink you like because we haven't found a decent red in any of the resorts in Mexico or the Carribean, maybe it's the heat? But saying that we live in California and we have a thriving wine industry. No matter the quality I'm sure you'll find something you like and you'll be sure to have a blast.
