Hello everyone, i'm planning a 1 week trip to cancun downtown area around mid july , i'm going to get my dental work done (a bridge,few fillings maybe a few crown) i found a good doctor in the downtown mall. he gave a me a fair price so i'm going for it. i've been in thailand,phillipines,brazil,peru,colombia. and i love the experience and the nightlife(heheheh) i had. however i'd like to ask your experiences which hotel would you reccomend to me? around the mall where my dentist is close I also want to know about hooking up with girls and nightclubs that you'd reccomend ,i'm 31 and got lots of energy.. any help will be appreciated. thanks. ohh also what tips would you reccommend? how much i should be paying to taxi from airport to downtown. how do i get to the beach or hang around the city? thanks. If your dental work is being done at Plaza las Americas which I expect it is, then you might want to consider the Ibis hotel which is walking distance and around $60 per night. To get to the beach, it's probably best if you take a taxi or walk (if you dont mind walking a mile in the heat along Tulum Ave) and then taking the Hotel Zone bus there. The bus runs the entire length of the strip, public beach access is not always easy so you'll need to do some homework on where to get off. Same applies for the clubs, taxi/walk to the bus stop on Tulum and then bus to the party center, unless you dont mind paying maybe $20 for a taxi ride direct. There's a ton of different nightclubs, Sweet, Coco Bongo, Mandala, Dady O, The City plus lots of bars - last time I went they all had girls there Real taxis dont run from the airport - they are only allowed to drop off there. There are some cars marked as taxis but they are not the real taxis, just another transportation company with rights to pick up people who havent booked in advance. Their prices are far higher than pre-bookable companies like USA Transfers who charge $35 one way or $55 return.
Is the $55 return only or "round trip"? I booked USA Transfers with the understanding that $55 was a round trip price.
Ok, well i just booked my ticket and hotel via american express rewards points and i'm pretty HAPPY about this more money on the pocket. LoL. Well ibis hotel has no pool, and they don't work with amex i guess so i got a place at MALECON PLAZA! i will be there around july 14 to 21st ,, if anyone of you there that time, i'd like to hang out..and hit the bars as well as them latinas.. i thank you for the infos.. i also like to know where i can meet local girls, without getting into trouble. like where they hang out and sort. i speak some spanish since i'm florida i just like them brown skins. LoL
