My hubby is picky about his tequila too. He brings his own. Usually Maestro Dobel or Casa Nobel. He really didn't like the tequila offered at the resort.
I'm a big tequila drinker - its usually Don Julio Blanco, Hornitos Resposado, or Corralejo for me. never need a lime or salt - yuck! I thought El Jimador was quite nice - not harsh, not fire water, not anything like Jose Cuervo. I switched between the blanco & resposado and liked them both. Never had a hang over and would routinely do 8-12 shots of the stuff a day/night on top of everything else I drank.
Finding a drink that didn't give me a hangover would be amazing. I have not enjoyed some of the tequila that I have had in the past, but perhaps I have been drinking the cheap stuff. We recently bought some Patron and it's not bad. Your not one of those lucky bastards that just don't get hangovers, are you? Or is drinking that right drink your secret. We are at TTR at the same time so I would like to go toe to toe with you and not feel like shit the next day
Make sure you go to the beach dinner on Saturday nights. Top Shelf liquor is included. Best night of the week. IMO
As my wife Laura stated above tequila is my drink of choice. As long as I drink good tequila 100% blue aguva I don't get hangovers either. Along with the 2 she mentioned I also like Hornitos and Milagro. Patron isn't bad but not my favorite. Cheers Will
Smirnoff and Sky are the good vodkas, if that is good enough just make sure to ask for it by brand every time, including shots. The bartenders are excellent and they will often remember your drink and the brand, but the house vodka is rot gut, at least in terms of flavor. We brought a bottle of good vodka just in case but never saw the need to bring it down to the bar. I didn't think the drinks were watered down at all and there would be no issue getting stronger ones if they were.
I find no sugar in my mix (diet coke & rum) is the aswer to no hangovers for me. Whenever there is sugar I know it the next day.
Don't no where this watered down stuff comes from. I know my drinks aren't, sometimes they are almost unbearably strong (not complaining), much like I mix at home. Maybe those who think they are may not be tipping, at the poolbar if you treat the bartender right, all you need do is place down your mug and it is being filled without saying a word.
I drink bacardi and Soda the whole time i am there. I can't tell you if its watered down as i am basically drinking it with a little bit of water but its plenty strong for me. I am never sober by the end of the day.
