Sigh. Valentina is on a tear again. When I left the office at 5:15 she had 387 votes. Somehow she has managed to add 49 votes in under 4 hours and is now 1 up on me. Serves me right for abandoning my refresh key for 3 1/2 hours to have dinner with friends

Sometimes this contest feels like digging a hole at the beach. The deeper you dig, the more sands falls in on you. It's pretty discouraging to slowly build a lead of 32 votes over the whole day, just to have it wiped out in a few short hours.

But I can see the light at the end of the voting tunnel. Only about 36 hours to go and this one is in the books, one way or the other.

Stick with me, CCC friends...I need you to help get me across the finish line first on Sunday afternoon. I can't do it without you!
