I bet we are not alone. We stumbled across this website and have spent hour after hour reading posts and reports. We are amazed by the info available. The place and the people sound brilliant and we can't wait to visit. Trouble is we are a little punch drunk trying to take it all in. How's this for a list of priorities and did we miss anything major. 1 Steves and only Steves cruise 2 large cooler mug 3 2 and 5 dollar bills for tips 4 join in everything 5 look after the maids 6 avoid the time share pitch at all costs 7 sea sickness pills for the Boobs Cruise 8 don't lose your towel 9 drink like it's going out of fashion And finally remember nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit. How did we do ?
A Fuuny Story Temptations was the first trip that my wife and I booked with just ourselves going - no child, no family, no friends. We knew it was an adult hotel and was topless optional which was fine by us - although my wife said "I'm not going topless". So we were talking about how nice it would be to perhaps get to know another couple in advance - maybe plan to play cards. So I thought I would look for a forum and of course found this one. After reading thread after thread with my jaw wide open, I leaned over to my wife and said "honey, I don't think they play cards at this hotel" After her spending hours reading the threads she said "maybe I'll pre-tan my boobs just in case" Anyway, we made some great friends on the first trip and have already booked our second. What surprised me most of all was the enthusiasm people have for this resort and this site -people who have gone multiple times. Something's very special about the people here and I can not wait to get back there.
First of all, I love your post Jim & Cheryl! The hotel you described, is the kind we tell our family we are going to Jac & Mark: I think you about summed it up. You did a great job of scowering over the millions of posts on here! Those are the most important things, besides getting involved with the forum for the month you will be there. We will be there in June and most month's groups plan additional theme nights. It's fun because you feel like you are a part of a big group who is all 'dressed' similarly. Have fun & welcome! ~Jill~
Spot on!!:xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: You are gonna love it. I had the same feeling before my first trip.. and getting that feeling again as trip #4 approaches... 46days... to go.. :lotsofmichaelfs:
I give you an A- only because you must absolutely not fall victim to the 1st night curse. Too many a good man has fallen victim to the dreaded 1st night curse and regretted it. Remember that you have all week to drink 100 beers, you don't have to drink them all on the 1st night.
Thanks for the feedback. Its good to know loads of people feel nervous and have a thousand questions and it's great to know people on here are happy to answer them. I guess it's questions that have been answered a thousand times and must seem boring to you all but it's really reassuring to newbies to have people take the trouble so thanks again. That first night curse thing is a great shout. I wonder how many people fall foul of that one and I wonder how many people know about, plan to avoid it and still miss day 2 with a sore head.
I warn myself the whole arrival day to avoid the first day curse when I get there... its never worked.. lol.. been there 6 or so times.. lol
I've only been twice but the first night kicked my ass both years. I think it's the over excitement of realizing I don't have a bar tab to close out at the end of the night. Unlimited drinks are hard to resist.
