We are (possibly) looking into a homeschool program for our children. This would begin in August or September. The English portion of the day would utilize the Oak Meadow curriculum (non-religious), the Spanish portion will need to conform to Secretaria de Educacion Publico requirements. School hours would (probably) be from 10am to 4pm. We will provide: Monthly Salary Classroom (probably a one-bedroom furnished apartment). Macbook computer(s), iPad, and internet access. All required classroom materials. All school-related expenses. Please let me know if you (or someone you know) is interested in teaching our nine-year-old triplets (two girls, one boy who is high-functioning autistic).
Here is some additional information on the position: Oak Meadow seems like it will be the best fit for the English curriculum (I've spent a lot of time researching various curriculums). We are a creative family (I'm a writer) and the kids are extremely artistic--so the classic/strict mode of schooling has been difficult at times. We do not want in any way to stifle their imagination and encourage them to write, draw, paint, read and so on. Here is what we are looking at for the homeschool: Full-time beginning in late August. The English portion of the day would utilize the Oak Meadow curriculum, the Spanish portion will need to conform to Secretaria de Educacion Publico requirements. School hours would be from 9:30am to 3:30pm and is for 36 weeks (180 days, not including holidays). We will provide: Monthly Salary of 12K Classroom (probably a one-bedroom furnished apartment or office). Macbook computer(s), iPad, and internet access. All required classroom materials. All school-related expenses. Here is some information about Oak Meadow: Third Grade Curriculum at Oak Meadow, Homeschooling Curriculum, Resources, and Support Here a sample of third grade lesson: http://www.oakmeadow.com/curriculum/sample-lessons/third-grade-lesson.pdf For the Spanish portion, I am really trying to use the Spanish program from the Workshop school in Merida. ::The Workshop:: I will try to get materials from them if possible and I'm going to take a visit to the school in June. Here is what the school day will look like: 9:30am -- Arrival 9:40am to 10:20am -- ENGLISH/Period 1 (20 min. lesson, 10 min. alternative, 10 min. recap) * 10 MIN.
