We will be 1st timers in June and whilst everyone talks about various locations around the resort i.e "near Paty O's" or "across from the sexy pool" its virtually impossible to visualise when you have never been. Is there a resort map showing the floor plan anywhere online that we can view so as to try and visualise what everyone is talking about? Alternatively what is the procedure on arrival for the allocation of rooms? We have seen numerous posts whereby people have rejected rooms that have been allocated and asked for a change of room, is that accepted or is it frowned upon? We are coming from the UK and therefore are travelling on a "package holiday" with Thomson whereas it seems that guests from Canada/USA travel independently and have wondered if package holiday guests are housed in a specific section or just allocated ad hoc on arrival. Failing the resort map can anyone tell us the best block or room No's rather than the ones to avoid. Many thanks.
The past 2 years we have been in room 1208 ( I think that was the #) right across from the gym and we loved it. Its really quiet and fairly centrally located. Plus it looks out into the quiet pool which tends to fulfill my voyeuristic tendencies. Our only real preference is not facing the road as I have an irrational fear of someone climbing up into the balcony and getting in our room. They have always been really good about trying to fulfill our requests and changing rooms if available.
the map is halfway down on this page: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/tem...nformation-resort-map-updated-may-09-a-5.html
Hey we stayed in 2226 over the bar and loved it. Huge space with 2 bathrooms and hosting room for a dozen. However you have to be in partymode as it is actually louder in the room than at the bar. On 1st arrival we thought we needed to move but we viewed other small rooms and decided to just party hearty for the week.
We have stayed in both 1339 and 1335 and both are perfect for people who want peace and quiet while in their room and don't mind walking up to the 3rd floor. Those are some of the ocean view rooms that are not far away from the action but are very quiet all day/all night.
We actually got moved from the dingleberry room to 1109 and it was 1000x better from a stench point of view. If you get a room you aren't happy with, just ask for another room. We've heard that March-May are the busiest times and we were there in April and had no problem getting a different room the second night...which would have been a Friday check-in for people traveling just for the weekend. For our room change, I let Kati go up to the front desk and make the request because I'm fugly and have a look on my face that makes people think I want to kick their ass for some reason...not the best negotiating face. I don't want to kick their ass...I've done enough ass-kicking in life already...I'm retired from that. I'm ready to chill with fun people with tasty margaritas especially anyone with medical training who can tape up a broken nose from too many margs.
