I was curious about this myself. Mexico has a size/volume rule, and I just heard that it IS the 3x of 750ml or less containers.

Going the other way, the U.S. has a value limit, whih is $5,000.

I thought that interesting, when I thought about it. You can take any VALUE of booze into Mexico, but it's got to fit into 3 750 ml bottles, but in the us they don't care how much, only how much it's worth.

Weird.

 

The US allowance is generally 1-litre per adult per 30-day period. You can bring back more if you declare it and pay duty. If you enter via Texas, you pay double duty because there's an onerous archaic state tax that U.S. CBP unjustly enforces. We found this out once when going through customs in Dallas. I this.k it partly depends on the mood of the Customs Agent.

 

In case anyone searches this, I think its 2 litres from the UK.
