Has anyone parasailed at TTR? I think the guys at the towel hut (Alabatross?) sell it, and I was wondering about cost, details etc. Any better alternitives? Debbie said if I parasailed with her, she would take a flight with my flight instructor. This would be her ride! George
I to am interested in para-sailing during are stay in June. Any information would be great as this will be are first trip. 28 DAYS till the party starts for us!!!!!!!! WHOHOO
I went out last April and wow was I ever nervous !!! But as soon as we lifted of the boat and got up in air it was so quite and peaceful. Absolutley amazing. I think it cost $40 each, we went out as a group of 4, with 2 people up at at time.
Last year we noticed a sign by the beach from TTR saying they don't recommend para-sailing. It said something about safety and liabilities, so we decided we better not risk it. I'm not saying don't do it, but I would just be aware it does come with some risk.
We went parasailing with the outfit on the pier on the quiet side. Assuming you have no fear of heights it's a very mellow experience - not the thrill-seeking adventure that it may appear from the ground. You get a great view of the peninsula and perhaps some aquatic life in the beautiful clear water. They hook you up and send you up/down to a platform on the rear of the boat without getting a drop of water on you, so you can wear your Sunday best if you happened to bring it along...
You might want to take some sea sickness medicine prior to going......my wife got motion sickness and threw up while we were up there.
Thank you for response everyone!:icon_biggrin: Debbie has done it once before, in Texas but I never have.:icon_eek: She has never flown in a small airplane.:blueshock: George
