Okay Folks I think I've got it. Yep, I've got a cure for the deficit. How about we levy a 50% tax on all political ads. The estimate is that Presidential Election will cost $2 billion. Just think, there's a billion right there and then we've got 435 House seats up for election and some Senate seats. Add to that the governors and local elections and we've got a good chink into the deficit. Besides it might end those stupid political ads and the annoying calls at dinner time.
That would raise a lot of money. How over the years, your major parties have been able to be in almost constant campaign mode baffles me! Also find a way to tax the Superpacs. That's probably where most of the money goes now anyways
Well said, the money spent on these campaigns could do so much more. Also, we should fine each candidate per day for each road side ad they leave up after election day.
If you add fines for every time they are caught lying or spreading "misinformation" you'll have it paid off in no time...lol
