Departure Tax?

    Yeayyy!! can't wait! And we're not going to let something like a bloody departure tax spoil the fun - hell I guess if we never leave then we don't have to pay it!!

    I have been told it is 780 peso. Only three more days before I go to the sun and have a great time.

    it says on our booking with thomsons it is 780 pesos each payable on departure, see you all at the sexy pool.

    780 pesos bloody hell its going up every time we go. started at 660 in Nov10 and May 11... to 750 pesos in Nov11, at this rate be too expensive to leave, just have to stay and :lotsofmichaelfs:

    Although all passengers pay, it is only UK charter flights that exclude it from the price of your ticket. If you fly from the UK with Virgin or BA the tax is also included in the cost of your flight. If you fly from Canada or the US then it's included too.

    Also remember the UK's Air Passenger Duty (i.e. departure tax to leave the UK) is twice as much at 75 quid! So stop your moaning you Scots ;)

    Last time I flew Jet Blue to Cancun(from USA), the departure tax was not included. This was 2 years ago.

    Yeah, there may well be exceptions to the general rule. Best check with your travel agent or airline.

    It is always in there. Some of the airlines used to wait until the end to display it but you always paid it. Sometime called or referred to as the 9/11 tax. It has shot up over the years especially steep for us to go in and out of the Dominican Republic. Hence the reason we found Cancun and Temptations.
