Chedraui in Las Americas have Hawaiian Tropic for 42 pesos down from like 135, then when they ring it through it comes up as 26 pesos! Great deal!

Hey TJ, you mean the second hand ones they flog at the tiangus that they have confiscated from tourists at places like xel-ha for not being bio-degradable? It's well fishy how someone at a market ends up with a whole stall of half full lotions and stuff! :)

26 pesos is a bargain, isn't that stuff over 100 pesos normally? Although Matt, a number 4 level sun lotion is probably about as good as putting lard on mate! Still, it will give you a good browning, sod the damage!

    Sam,

The ones at the Tianguis, as I understand it, are left by guests in some of the hotels. They can be from nearly full to nearly empty. We used to buy them for $10 each and now the price is double or even more for the near full ones. The sellers seem to have figured out what the market will bear. I try to buy as many good ones as I can find, then not go back until I am about out. I use sunscreen every day, beach or not.

They are usually sold on blankets on the ground. Sellers are mostly hard to deal with in terms of bulk buying or fairly pricing nearly empty cans. I like the spray cans/bottles from 30-50 spf.

Crap. I was there today and thinking $26, but I saw $42 and passed, since I use more than an SPF 4. I think I will go back tomorrow, since I will be in the mall anyway and see if it still rings at $26, and maybe buy some for guests, if I ever have any.
