I hope I don't offend anyone. But we went to coco bongo on our last trip and really didn't have much fun. It was wall to wall people and we were on the balcony at the absolute top of the club. To us it was more of a Vegas show than a dance club. We're we just missing out? My wife LOVES to dance and there was no chance of getting to the bottom floor and getting on the dance floor. What's the consensus about this place?

:icon_cool: Coco's is great but we never stay where they try to stick us way out of the action. $5 or $10 to the guy leading you in with the request that you're down on the floor, preferably on the sides of the bar.

Your lady can be up on the bar dancing and you can be right there w her and that is usually where they pull the ladies to go dance in the cage up top.

It's crowded and busy but a tip to get there and another $10 to your server right off the bat beats the VIP admission in my opinion. :biggrinbandit:

It's no secret around this forum that I LOVE Coco Bongo and will go there at least once every time I visit TTR. Yes, it was very crowded this April, but if you want to get on the floor, you tip the fellow who shows you to your table and tell him where you want to go. The two guys I travel with did this, and we were escorted from the gallery right down to the bullpen bar where I promptly hopped up on the bar and danced my lil' patoot off all night. The guys stayed on the floor just to the side of the bar to make sure I didn`t get into any trouble. :D

If you want to dance WITH your partner, Coco Bongo is definitely not the right place for that during high season. In December, there was room for the Temptation group to dance on the floor by the bar. In April, there was very little room for that, and you would mostly just be standing and watching the show (or grooving on your own where you stand).

It depends what you are looking for in a night out. I love the music at Coco Bongo and being single, I can dance on my own all night on the bar. Not many women do that (the bar`s not that big!), and probably not many men want to spend the night down on the floor while their woman is up on the bar...perhaps not an ideal night out for a couple. But it`s definitely worth going at least once in your life, as it is quite an experience.

I hear you. Although I read that many on this forum love Coco Bongo, I am right there with you. We went last year and we were disappointed. We stayed an hour and left. We had drinks thrown on us because some drunk people through it was fun to throw drinks?!? It was so packed that it made it uncomfortable. Some of the acts we saw where neat - but that is all you can really do. Just watch. It really isn't a dance club. You could not find a waiter for a drink. Not to mention that when I got home I saw that my credit card #s were cloned and had $1000 in charges. That was the only place where we used the card. In conclusion I will not go back.

Yeah, we like to dance but figure our first trip to TTR will have plenty of dancing. Not feeling the need this time to add Coco Bongo into the mix just yet.

Won't be going back. First year was fun, went up to the very top and could see everything and enjoy. Last year, we paid an extra $20 a couple and then we ended up getting kicked off/away from the table we were given because it was reserved for another hotel. Way too crowded, couldn't get a drink (well, had lots of drinks spilled on us) and trying to get to the restrooms was a complete nightmare!! Went across the street to Dos Equis XX Terrace Bar and have a blast!!!!
