...hope we get to go, now... My Grandmother is bad and will probably not last the weekend. The dilemma is to go ahead and cancel (bought insurance) or weather it out and hope she hangs on... Any suggestions??
(Big Sigh) Our condolences. So you are stuck at a cross roads that questions or is possibly causing you to evaluate or prioritize your values. Very difficult situation to be in. So my approach to this conflict would be to evaluate worse case scenario. For example, if I were in your situation I would ask.... What is the worse case scenario it I cancel my trip and Grandma "makes it?" What is the worse case scenario if I go on vacation and Grandam doesn't? If you are like us/me, then I could imagine how much going on vacation with this group means. However, if I were to sincerely value family or Grandma then I could justify skipping it for her. I don't know if this helps or not. Good luck in making your decision and know that sometimes you have to make (even if unpopular) decisions for yourself.
...definitely puts it in perspective... Thank you guys for responding. I'm Not sure what to do. I know my Grandmother would say, "go have fun, and drink a few for me!!" But the rest of the family will think I'm the A-hole that would rather party on vacation than go to his grandmother's funeral... Either way, I'm gonna "Celebrate" with her in mind... I guess we will decide in the morning upon what happens during the night...

Don't apologize for that glen!!!! Sorry to hear about your grandma. If u don't make it down everyone will miss u but u will be in our thoughts and prayers! Sending a big hug to you both .
