In the same boat, but trying to figure out how to talk the hubby into a trip!! We hit Los Cabos last November, which cost us a pretty penny more than a trip to Cancun from Florida and it didn't quite meet the expectations....so now he says we need to save $$. Usually take an April trip but our oldest got married in Key West at the end of March so that took that out of play. Now I'm torturing myself by surfing these threads daily wishing we were there!!!

Hi Folks! This is Angela! I would totally love to go twice a year but our children are 5 and 2. I know in no time they will have friends they want to be with instead of mom and dad! I can always take trips to TTR at that point but I can never bring the baby years back!

I dunno. With parents as cool as you two seem to be, I bet your kids are ALWAYS gonna wanna hang out with you two. :)

I kinda have to agree with you. We have a 2 year old and we settled on going on 1 family vacation and 1 "couples" vacation at TTR every year (provided we have the funds). I want the little guy to experience vacations too.

This is what we try to do also. OUr boys are 8,11, & 16 & we definately feel we need our "adult" vacation but we also know its just as important to have a "family" vacation too. :umbrella1: Like Angela said we know they grow up way too fast & the day will come where we wont be able to have family vacations & then we will be able to have more "couples time". Don't have to talk Kay into going to TTR. If I say anything about going she'd beat me up if i changed my mind. She start packing a month before we leave for each trip.

Yes, you have to have balance. I can't do a couples only vacation with a clear conscience unless I know we're going to take the kids on a family vacation, too. Because of that, we take at least two trips a year.

Yes, this means we cut in some other areas to put cash in the vacation budget, but I think that travelling together is one of the best ways to build strong couples and strong families. So, maybe you do two shorter trips this year, or maybe your family vacation is close to home so you can drive.
