In following the voting and then seeing the final "adjusted results" of the latest Miss Temptations contest, it is ever more apparent that spending any time voting or showing interest in this competition is a complete waste of time. I understand that TTR is doing the contest to help promote the resort and increase their January occupancy, but I think the monthly contest is causing more damage than good. TTR is really missing the mark because the contest has lost all credibility, as it's either rigged or so poorly managed that it gives the appearance of being rigged. Either figure out how to do it right (so a vote shown is a real vote) or stop doing the contest completely. The weekly contest at the resort is fun and very entertaining and we have also enjoyed "checking out" the weekly winners each month on the website ..... and we would like to see both continue. So here's an idea for TTR. Get rid of the monthly contest on the website and give all 52 weekly winners a free three days by inviting them to compete in the annual Miss TTR in January. Not all would be able to make it there, but most who can would likely stay for a week (more $ for the resort). Imagine 52 Miss TTRs there all at the same time! TTR would be the hottest spot in town. The place would be packed and the resort could really make a big PR splash (more $ for the resort), and in the end they would garner some positive (rather than negative) effect from the contest. Just a few thoughts.....
I thought they ended the yearly Miss Temptation in January (starting this year)? I heard that every monthly winner will now recieve a certain amount of free days to use whenever they want. Anyone else know for sure? I heard that this past January didn't go so well because a few girls had to cancel at the last minute, so they changed it.
I think Slopoke's idea is brilliant. It holds the promise of being the most exclusive week long party of the year. I know we'd make an effort to get a room. The news of this vote rigging is really putting a sour note on this contest. Even if it ISN'T rigged (which I doubt considering the massive number of people from CC alone), the negative feedback is getting to be too much. Good word of mouth spreads fast, but bad word of mouth spreads faster.
Slopoke, I agree with you 100 percent. The weekly prizes are definitely more than enough to lure me to goof around in public, but the online is offputting. I felt like I knew my odds going in...I've been around this site enough to hear the grumbling and to see girls I'd supported win the votes...then mysteriously wind up losing due to "false votes." Todd and I know that lots of people reached out and voted, but we know there's about a snowball's chance that anywhere near 550 did. In fact, we were nothing but amused when we saw 800 votes added across the four girls in just a few hours. So, yeah...now I feel like not only did TTR say to me, "You just aren't hot enough for us," but they also made me look like some sort of cheater by saying I had more "false" votes than the other girls. But...had they just given us a certificate, I can guarantee we'd have been back there in January, and we'd have brought friends. Would have been a good moneymaker for them.
I guess I have a bad attitude about it. It is totally rigged bad. The girl who won was stuck on 116 votes for like three days then all of a sudden every five minutes she got a vote for like one whole day till she caught up. You guessed it. As soon as she got the lead by one vote, it stopped. I guess what would be interesting to know is why they have some agenda on it or what the point of rigging the thing is? Slopokes ideas is a good one.
We can always show the power of the people and boycott it until they fix it. I am 100% sure this board has the most leverage at the resort. Make some noise!
The problem with these votes, is they are relatively easy to rig, no matter who does it. It seems the TTR has been more attentive to CCC lately, this is an issue that needs addressed.
