Our yearly April Addicts trip was another success. Quick shout out and two thumbs up to Woody and Sue for ordering and handing out the TTR April Addicts 2012 bracelets as well as putting together the PDF file- both were extremely helpful in recognizing the large Cancuncare group that was there. As always, there are more high-lights than low-lights. Highlights in no uncertain order J ü Steve and Jannet’s amazing Boobs Cruise. A beautiful day (April 14) on a beautiful new boat with 80 fun people. The best off-site excursion there is! ü The wonderful people that make up the April Addicts group. Way too many to name and we wouldn’t want to even try for fear of leaving anyone out. Met both a lot of people from prior trips as well as a bunch of people we met for the first time (both newbies and repeaters). Of course this vacation wouldn’t have been the same without you all. ü The fun 2nd annual “adult” toy exchange party. Thanks to Doc and Nurse for putting this together (it was a thread that was closed out when we reached the limit). ü Steve and Jannet spending a couple of days at TTR with us and meeting us again at a local beach bar a few days later. ü The excellent bartenders, wait-staff, entertainment crew, front desk personnel, etc. Always great to hear a “welcome back” or a “good to see you again” from them. ü Food- never had a bad meal. Although this was the first time we didn’t make a reservation at either the Asian or Italian. Majority of our lunches and dinners at either Margaritas or Bella Vista where no reservations were needed. Of course most mornings we had the wonderful made to order omelettes at the buffet. ü Jim being there both in heart and picture- here’s one of him after having a great time and being escorted off the resort by security: And the Lowlights L Joyce’s toe boo-boo. You would have thought it was due to the 4 rainbow shots she just had which were made by Pablo at the quiet pool bar…. But actually she was sober and slipped going from the sidewalk in front of the patio of our room to the slippery tiles not that far from the hallway near the sports bar (and about 20 feet or so from our room entrance). Kudos to the fast response from security in bandaging it up as well as the lifeguard in replacing bandages the next morning- I wish I had gotten their names. Also many thanks to Roger and Barbie for staying with us the entire time during the initial bandaging. Due to the quick efforts there is no infection, and the healing has already started. And finally Many Thanks to everyone else for their concern and well wishes! Montezuma’s revenge hit us both our last full day there. At least it rained most of the day as we spent much of it either in bed or the bathroom… And thanks to Woody and Sue for giving us a “miracle pill” that night at dinner. Made our trip home the next day A LOT easier! Not seeing some people that we’ve had fun times with on other trips- damn shame Bill (Slotman) and Kathy had a late cancellation. And we were sorry to see that Sergio was no longer at TTR. Finally, our thoughts and prayers continue for Chinos. It was great to chat with him on the phone the day of the Boobs Cruise (thanks to Jannet for making this happen). We can’t wait for our return trip at Halloween! Of course pictures are available upon request for those who were there.
Great TR and Great hanging out w you guys more this year! Love that stinky on Isla Mejeres. Wish we were all still there!
Great trip report - but just had to comment on the point above. It's great that people are looking out for when something like this happens, which is quite frequent from all accounts due to combination of humidity and tiles. We often hear on here of people who have slipped, either by the pool or in their rooms or the hallways - it's a humid climate so we all need to remember to take care. I nearly went over in the room once, when I was wearing a pair of 5" heels. That bit of corridor between quiet pool and sports pool (to get to the toilet) was really slippery too, and I had to remember to be really careful to walk through there. Next holiday the heels are staying at home, I'm taking flat sandals and flip flops only - sod sex appeal I'm making sure I'm not breaking or bruising anything!
Actually that's a lie. I will be taking with me one pair of heels to wear for lingerie night because we missed lingerie night last time, and I really want to make this one count!!
And the funny thing is that Joyce was carrying her pair of crocs while I was wearing mine... although maybe not so funny at the time. And I always leave my 5 inch pumps at home, lol...
