I know the resort goes to a different club each night - what are people's thoughts on the clubs? This is our first time to cancun, so we're curious. For people who have been, are the clubs worth it? Or can just as good (or even better) of a time be had staying at TTR? Are there any clubs you would definitely reccomend over others? I love to dance and like me a good clubbing night, but I'm honestly kinda worried about what seems like an absolutely massive space filled with about a bagillion (possible young and stupid) people. Stacia & I tend to avoid the massively-huge clubs like Coco Bongo and The City, though lots of folks love going there. We like the smaller bar/club hang outs where it can still get pretty f-ing rowdy, like Senor Frogs and Carlos & Charlie's. Heard about another place we want to check out called Bull Frog's (or Bullfrogs?), with an upstairs hot tub for VIP ladies.
You would be referring to Bulldogs which is very good. Dady O's is good as well they are both about the same size. I don't believe the resort goes to either of these clubs anymore which sucks. We like going with the TTR crowd although it's not that big of deal to gather up a group and venture out on your own. You would also like Mandala's. I think the resort still goes to Mandala's. It's open air but they do have air conditioning coming down the from the ceiling. The resort used to go to Sweat but I don't know if they still do. Thats the best all around dance club. I agree we like the smaller clubs as well.
If you have never been to cancun then Congo Bongo's is a must in my opinion. Go with the resort crew....you do have to pay for your way back to the resort but you can share the ride back with someone else. The MAYhem group last year went to Carlo's and Charlie which is a resturant that is awesome and then off to Slices right across the street. It is a small open air bar that overlooks the main street and is a blast with the right crew. We did this at the last minute for one of our group who's birthday it was and was great. My profile has pics of both places. Congo Bongos is a show in itself but you can also dance there and go up on stage to dance. Meet up with people from the resort before you go and you will have a blast. TTR is great at patyo's to party all night but will die down on the nights the resort goes to Congo Bongo's but even then many stay at the resort. Rob
Thanks for the info guys I`m thinking it will be best to just go with the flow and see where the party is at on any given night. I have heard good things about coco bongo`s though, so maybe that too. I`m super indecisive, so playing it by ear totally works for me
Hey BBGParty, that's the best suggestion I've heard for a while. Maybe I'll take a card out of Mike Simon's deck and try to get a group to go get a bus and get a big group to hit up one of those clubs. is Sweat still active? My baby got back and she dearly loves to shake it on the dance floor.
Its called Club Sweet. I said Sweat. Sorry. Yeah it's going. The resort used to go Sunday nights. I know the resort goes to Coco Bongos twice, The City, The Beach Club or something like that and Mandala's. I don't know what they do the other two nights. I've been to Coco's 3 times now and I don't need to see that again although its a great time. Mandala's is the only one out of those 4 clubs I would go to. Another suggestion in this thread is Slices. We have friends that always hit Slices each year. Hit that later in the evening. Google the different clubs and see what promotions they have going on the different nights. I'd still suggest trying to go with the resort depending on what clubs they go to. ....and dont forget to hit the Taco Factory before you head back to the hotel. You won't regret it. jeffnalisa showed us that a few years ago.
Got it. Correction to Sweet. What's the cool thing about Mandalas? Something special there? The last couple times we were at TTR Nov. 2011 and Feb. 2012, there didn't seem to be much, if any, interest in leaving TTR to go a-clubbing. I don't want to do it every night, but a couple would be great.
Me and your baby have much in common then Even one night would do it for me. Hopefully there will be some people interested in heading out. A few drinks in me and I tend to become a very persuasive advocate for a night out...
