First and foremost we had a great time again at Temptation los cabos. No matter what you read, hear about, or try and read into this trip report - keep that in mind. Because even though we had a great time, it is probably not going to sound quite as peachy as bob’s trip report J . Nevertheless, I assure all that we did have a great time. We just had a few more issues this year than last and I think it only fair to be honest and share everything with everyone so that all (ours, our friends, and those who read this trip report) our future trips can be improved upon. Since this will be our final thread on this forum (and during this time of the year I don’t work but about an hour or two a day), I figured I would “go big”. So here it is. Enjoy the ride, the rants and the ramblings and reproductions of our LOS CABOS HOT MESS FEST TRIP REPORT DAY 1 Airplane “Sharing horizons that are new to us” From the song We’ve only just begun by the carpenters It did not start well. The airplane that showed up to take us to our connecting flight to Houston was basically an oversized crop duster. It looked so out of place at DFW. We are not big fans of flying in the best of situations so this contraption was not a welcome sight, but we went ahead and reluctantly boarded (plane was so small it did not even have a pot to piss in) it and made it safely to Houston and on then to san jose del cabo in a plane about the size of a large leer jet. Note to self - even if it means spending an additional $300.00 - always fly direct from DFW After arriving 25 minutes early and basically going through customs, baggage and the bull shit artists without a hitch, we arrived outside grabbed two coronas our shuttle van full of vanillas and were on our way - 15 minutes from the time we got off the plane until we got in the van - what a great start ………..and it only got better as we arrived at the hotel and met up with all the gang and went up to the hot tub where body shots flowed and we were well on our way to a repeat of last year ………..or so I thought L ………..that was pretty much the only time we did any serious body shots for the week……..other than a handful of people on the boat ride to cabo on Tuesday. The Orient Express “Bangkok, Oriental setting And the city don’t know what the city is getting” From the song One Night in Bangkok by murray head There were a large number of our group wanting to have an asian experience so several of us including doug, misty, bobbie, Harold, stuart, Sondra, pops, lisa, dave, jen all met up and all did the asian and enjoyed every minute. Doug and misty suggested the beef and it was incredible. T ordered some type of peanut chicken and while it was not as good as the beef it seems as though this place has stepped up its game from last year. After dinner we went out the melange bar where we socialized and enjoyed the Lingerie fashion show as several of the women dressed and went on stage, a few others dressed but did not want to get on stage (chicken t J ) and yet others slept right through (sleepy barb J ) sondra, t, jen, angie faye, bobby dave, jen, t T and I crashed about 11 as we have a big week ahead. Notes/thoughts on day 1: one of the main reasons we take vacations is to relax from stress/drama and this airport is quite possibly the easiest airport I have ever been too in term of getting in and getting out - this maximizes vacation time and eliminates stress and puts us in the right mood for a vacation. Next trip though we will fly direct - regardless!!! Was really excited about hanging out with all and enjoying all of the inevitable birthday parties/body shot festivals like we had last year so we thought we were off to a great start on Saturday. however, I think the 277 degree temp and the 2nd degree burns from the fire in the hot tub this year became a huge factor in basically eliminating what was clearly one of our favorite things about the resort. The heat was so intense that we only spent a total of maybe 45 minutes of our entire day time at the resort in the hot tub - sad very sad L last year we spent an average of 3 hours per day in it. I should point out here that the nights were at least manageable but still very very hot. The asian was very good and we ate asian on three separate occasions (twice sit down and teppanyaki once) the food was a grade up from last year in my book - however they did not have sushi this year (I ate a ton when we landed back in dallas) The Lingerie show was nice but the same show as last year and could have used a little different approach, but all in all hard to argue with the great format they have as the girls look great in Lingerie J DAY 2 Ice Age “Your cold as ice, cold as ice, I know Oh yes I know” From the song cold as ice by foreigner Got up and headed down for the usual, but very good breakfast with pops and lisa and then on to the pool to find people waking up and getting started. However, the pool was much cooler that last year and i should point out here that it stayed that way all week and certainly contributed to a reluctance from many to fully get in and take advantage of the pool. Sunday was perhaps the only day when most all did at least try to enjoy the pool. Last year the pool (around the island) was a main source of socialization for the group in the mornings up until mid day - but this year - it was the source of chill bump breakouts the size of a teenage acne - most of us just hung out at the very shallow end where the water was slightly warmer rick, nadine, t and terry in the shallow end - all week On this day we also met jarrod and stacy from Canada and was shocked to find out that they did not know all of the other Canadians in our group and all of those at the resort. I just figured all Canadians knew each other?! I found out that was not the case, so we made sure from that point forward that we did not assume all Canadians knew each other and every time we would run into one of the three thousand Canadians at the resort we would ask them first if they knew such and such ………and if they did not…..then we would introduce them……..shocked still…….that all Canadians did not already know each other J Mona Lisa Smile “I thank the lord there’s people out there like you” From the song mona lisas and mad hatters performed by Elton john HOLY F%$#@*( WOW!! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PLACE J We loaded up about 5:45 and headed to sunset de mona lisa via cielito lindo. (a transfer service which I highly recommend). I could spend a whole page devoted to this place, but I will try and keep it short and sweet and simply say the entire experience was “breathtaking” group preparing to depart for sunset de mona lisa Perhaps the most incredible restaurant I have been in or will ever be in. the food was great, but the place was like no other on the planet. We had 18 in our group and sat 10 at one table and 8 at the other. It was an evening I will never forget and certainly rate it above last years dinner at ediths - if you go to los cabos you owe it to yourself to try this place - you will be blown away. sunset de mona lisa inside looking out at sunset de mona lisa sunset at sunset de mona lisa We drove back and participated in karaoke night. Jen sang “like a virgin” bob sang “sweet caroline” (with a little help from some friends) Sondra sang and so did our new friend rob (whom we met upon return to the resort from sunset de mona lisa). We called it a night early and was in bed by 11 again Notes/thoughts about Sunday: again the cold pool and the extra hot overly heated hot tub contributed to our group having to make modifications to our typical routine…..and just ask t - I don’t deal well with change lol The saving grace of the day for me was the dinner with everyone at sunset de mona lisa J DAY 3 Are we there yet? All day long they work so hard Til the sun is going down” From the song “the chain gang” performed by sam cooke Well just as in the movie, you guessed it - construction and renovation work began on Monday and while it was a little bit of a distraction, they kept it to a minimum rarely using power tools and being very careful not to disrupt people on vacation. Compared to the change over from blue bay to Temptation back in 2007 in cancun it was nothing at all………not even worthy of this mention lol privacy roof over the stage again Julius Ceasar began the morning tv trivia contest and a guy Julius named “mandingo” and faye raye from our group competed for the bottle of tequilia and they tied so they both got a bottle of tequila. After another relatively quiet day at the pool we shuffled in early and got ready to go over to downtown san jose del cabo. Rules of Engagement "There’s many lost but tell me who has won” From the song Sunday bloody Sunday by U2 Guess you had to be there to get it lol Anywho ill try on this stretch….. Several of us went out to dinner at the appropriately named “shooters” rooftop at shooters with gang and to watch a little bit of the basketball game and while we were there we ran into doug and misty. Now doug is a super nice guy and he has been staying at the resort for quite some time and his work takes him to the middle east……….and well….bob was in rare form and had me in tears the whole night with his “he may or may not be” line about doug being an undercover navy seal and that “if we knew he was he may or may not have to kill us” doug did a great job of taking it well and even let us take a picture with him on the boobze cruise me, doug (or will at least say his name is doug here ) and bob …….but I forgot to have him sign it and I could probably get tracked down by a “shooter” for showing his picture here Notes/thoughts on day 3: pretty slow easy vacation day, making adjustments to the dynamics, and great way to finish the evening with all off the resort in san jose del cabo at the appropriately named “shooters” DAY 4 The Life Aquatic “Like a dolphin who guides you You bring us beside you To light up the darkness And show us the way” From the song calypso by john denver Okay it was a boobze cruise and I am sure rob had one heck of a birthday party (the pictures prove that) but there was not much booze and even fewer boobs so for me it was far more tame than last years. Last year once one started the others fell in line and pretty much everyone on the boat got involved and I am not sure if there was a single top on when it was all said and done - this one - not so much the group on the boat I mean it started off great and was headed in that direction as most boobze cruises do (I would even say this one started moving in that direction faster than others I have been on) a few topless girls by song 7 or 8, tons of dancing, and few body shots flowing ………but a large number of events played into this deal turning it into more of a freezing cold whale watching tour………..that just would not seem to end for many on the boat………as the only food provided was some chips and top that off with several people getting sick - it was sadly not the best time for all on board. t birthday boy rob whales follwed the boat the first hour or so crazy me and t - i shoulda been a strippa "the wild ones" However, there were a handful who braved it all just drank our way though it and were feeling no pain whatsoever…….and had very few clothes on - self included J just hard to compare to last year as last years was a two hour cruise and everybody (not just a handful) were well fed, comfortable, topless, dancing on the poles, drunk and having fun by the time it ended Night Shift “I like crazy, foolish, stupid Party going wild, fist pumping Music, I might lose it” From the song “wild ones” by flo rida Once we docked the pub crawl began for us - and the pub crawl was one of the highlights of the week for the 8 - 10 (not including the randoms who joined in from time to time here and there) that participated - after we got off the boat we walked to rips and ate about a million incredible street tacos and spend all of about 6 dollars between the two of us and may have spent 10 dollars on all the drinks there - rips Special note here on rips/cabo wabo - a word of advice here - if you are going to cabo san lucas to visit cabo wabo - then please do so and then once you walk in and look around for ten minutes - walk straight back out and stop at rips and save yourself hundreds of dollars and have tons more fun talking with great people the bar staff and drinking cheap drinks and enjoying the night. After rips it was across the street to giggling marlin where we danced participated in games and contests and such. The only down side was the fact that……….. after they made the show about as sexually charged as the set of a porn movie …………….we looked around and in between jen conga marching with a four year old and rob dancing on the bar in his jock strap ……….we realized that because of all the kids in the joint - we might want to take the party elsewhere I mean hello people Its 10:30 at night and you have your kids out at a bar in this sexually charged environment - really?? I’m all for partying, pda and my fair share of voyuerism ----à in certain environments - not this one though we simply removed ourselves from the situation - when the manager asked us why we were leaving I explained to him that where we come from people can get arrested for this shit and that we just prefer not to be overtly sensual/sexual stupid drunk in front of two footers and single digit homo sapiens………maybe it’s just a cultural thing ?! Just not used to that where we live - you want to spend time with the kids then go to chuck e cheese, goofy golf, the pirate ship or rent finding nemo for them - that is what we did with our kids when they were that age - just don’t get it! steph, t jarrod, stacy, jen, sondra at giggling marlin Time for me to get off this rant just as it was time for us to move on to our next stop at cabo blue outside at cabo blue rob earned the hot mess award for the day After a drink or two here at this little outdoor bar, and a chance to catch our breath, we lost rob and steph to a titty bar (see pic above to see how e lost rob) and then we all moved on to happy endings where we ran into some Washington Huskies on spring break and had a blast with them playing beer pong and drinking shots. Of course we got our asses kicked because they had beer pong jesus on their team and even t flashing them repeatedly could not phase them - they simply just grabbed the sharpie and wrote “schmoking Hot mess” on T’s arm lol …..I think she just inspired them more t trying to help our team win a few of the many randoms that hooked up with us on the pub crawl we had a great time with them, but we lost dave and jen here as dave was over served and ended up getting kicked out of the ladies rest room. So after saying our farewells to dave and jen, several of the Huskies and the balance of old drunks moved on to the pink kitty for a taste and since the placed sucked we moved on up to el squid roe……….and after dancing on tables at squid roe we wrapped up their late night - and made our taxi driver make the stop at la taquiza for tacos al pastor and once again spent all of a penny for 300 of the best tacos in the mexico. Notes/thoughts on the day: years ago I explained to lisa that every boobze cruise is different and each one takes on a life of its own. this one was no exception. When she brought up the subject in the taxi as we drove back to the resort I reminded her how a number of factors play into each boobze cruise and over the years I’ve learned to roll with the flow - whatever direction it takes. Was I upset that it did not turn into what it did last year ? Without a question, but as I reflect back we still all had a good time even if it was just a different type of good time J I would probably not recommend a fantastic voyage boobze cruise from san jose del cabo to cabo san lucas for everyone. It is certainly a little bit long, it gets a little bit chilly late, some get sick, others would rather watch whales (and arguably so I must add as they were quite spectacular J ) early party excitement wanes on such a long cruise and things start to seem a little forced ………oh yeah and there was no food on the boat and the dj’s jacking with the music Oh well I let it go that day and just enjoyed it as it was J so I will let it go now too J Still got to find out why we did not have any food???? But for anything that may have been missing from the boobze cruise, it was more than made up for on the pub crawl J as this was definitely one of the best nights we had on our vacation - was certainly a once in a lifetime experience J and while we spent more than a penny for the three hundred tacos at rips and la taquiza im sure that t and I spent less than 20 combined for all we ate that night and there is nobody in los cabos that ate better. we went to bed drunk, fat and happy and with a pocket full of money! DAY 5 Back to the Future “Long time ago when we was fab” From the song “fab” performed by George harrison On Wednesday afternoon at about three we put on some great retro tunes from the 70’s and the party started early. Almost everyone put on retro bathing suits and crashed the pool caddy shack style as “sad eyes” by robert johns played in the background. was so much fun seeing almost everyone decked out and we drank and laughed and enjoyed some great music singing sing a longs and partying until it was time to have another asian experience retro day ladies having their fun Boogie Nights “We know hot to do it” From the song night fever performed by the bee gees After eating asian t and I signed up for the contest for that evening. She was reluctant but glad she did. Rob/steph and dave/jen played as well. Of course the girls won but we had a lot of fun and after the contest we moved up to the disco with everyone and kept the party going late night as the dj there cranked out “wild ones” and the hits kept coming until we departed and headed up to the hot tub for even more drinks. retro game (t finally on stage) at the asian with rob/steph with rick aka jeff lynn from elo gang on stage ladies night Notes/thoughts on retro day: this was certainly my favorite entire day/nite of the trip, once again (for the second night in a row) we danced for hours and had a blast. The disco was open and we pretty much shut it down……….or at least rick and Nadine did J - had great participation and many smiles - great day J DAY 6 Every which way but loose “Ive got a feelin I should leave Before the roof caves in My mind tells me to move along But my body begs me to stay” From the song Every which way but loose performed by eddie rabbit Many of you will recall the famous movie every which way but loose which starred clint eastwood and ruth Gordon but what you may not know (as faye pointed out for me) is that the reincarnation of ruth Gordon showed up again this year appropriately on easter weekend . Was great seeing her and her side kick again as they provided us with unlimited drama all day long and kept us more entertained than the 1978 movie did lol Anyways several of us (including Harold, stuart, Sondra, t and Nadine) played some wvb and like most days on this trip - we had a pretty easy going day at the pool We had an Italian for dinner - rob/steph, stuart/Sondra, bobbie/Harold, rick/faye joined us. It was our first italian and it was very good. italian dinner After dinner we listened to the latin band and enjoyed the black and white night and went to bed shortly after midnight bobby/sondra t, me, stacy, steph rick faye stuart and sondra t, bob and barb Notes/thoughts on the day - nothing good or bad to report just another day in paradise DAY 7 Song of the South “Zip- a- dee - doo - dah Zip - a - dee - a My oh my what a wonderful day” From the song zip a dee doo dah performed by james basket After discussing a trek down to zippers back and forth a million times and after I promised t I would go with her to zip a dee do dah’s or whatever it is called, we finally made our way down there humming the tune in my mind the whole way J Rick, faye, booby, Harold, rick and Nadine joined us at zippers and we enjoyed some great beach grub - its not that bad of a walk and a great way to get some different food at a reasonable price - when we got back rob and steph were in rare form and they got the party going by encouraging all to do some great beach pics. ladies with rob and rick more ladies in the hot mess beach pic fun carried over in to the pool til dark Last year these types of small efforts ended up turning into a great afternoon and great party (these were few and far between this year) and this small effort turned into an incredible afternoon party. We took tons of pics and spent the balance of the afternoon letting the girls do a mini boobze cruise in robs inflatable raft. We stayed out til almost dark and several of were getting pretty drunk by the time we got out J We joined dave and jen for dinner at the buffet (the only night we ate there) and it was decent. After dinner we joined all for the trek over to red and karaoke and then back to the Temptation 360 party which was an overcrowded over indulging hot mess so we called it a night leaving bob barb stuart Sondra and rick and faye to fend for themselves lol DAY 8 Creep Show “Feeling uninspired Think ill start a fire Everybody run” From the song creep performed by stone temple pilots By Saturday things had got pretty bad in term of creepers. The week started off with some awesome great fun people but as more of our group started heading home, the more the place got really ugly and creepy. Other than keeping track of the creepers and their proximity to t and losing to stuart in ping pong and playing corn hole with dave, jen and Sondra……….our only form of entertainment for this day was watching the enormous swell of creepers who invaded the pool We witnessed one lady getting escorted out and at least three of those creepy guys wandering the pool in search of their next victim - we stayed out by the island and would position ourselves in between the island and them to avoid them at all cost………only to run into more creepers lol The evening would prove to be much more entertaining thank god J Striptease “She poppin she rollin she rollin She climbin that pole” From the song im in love with a stripper performed by t pain We had an incredible asian experience on Saturday night and would consider it my favorite meal at the resort all week. the food was great the people were great and it led right into another fun lingerie night. T dressed up again and once again she did not participate in the fashion show. t and steph picking on rob After the lingerie fashion show we went up to the disco for the stripper show. The strippers never made it! So we just made our own party and after we finished shutting down the disco we went on up to the hot tub and shut that one down as well at about 3 a.m. On the way back to the room, we went to look for some food but could not find a damn crumb anywhere and since I was so drunk and hungry and sleep in the buff - you guessed it - a recipe for disaster - and I swear to you t caught me sleep walking butt ass naked going out our door. She asked me where I was going and I told her to find some damn food” lol Trust me ive done much worse when I am drunk and fall asleep naked Notes and thought on the day - I never thought I would see the day when I would say “im glad they will no longer allow singles” those who know me know how I truly feel about this as we have tons of single guy friends and I have been on the board trash talking people (and for that I was wrong and sorry - you were right !!!) who do not like single guys at the resorts. This truly goes against everything I believe but geez these damn creeper F%$#@ just absolutely wore my ass out !!! Security did a great job with issues and they handled all situations all week in a very professional manner. I rarely give credit where credit is due but they handled the drunks and creepers very well - escorting the drunks to their rooms and keeping an eye out on the creeper machines - making sure they stayed in line. also before i forget thanks to alex who kept me in line and hooked all week supplying me and everyone in the group his special "alex" drink the one and only alex again, we cant say enough about the disco - they did a great job with the tunes and it was rocking strong both nights we were in there - nice work !!! DAY 9 The departed “As im leaving, a change comes on my eyes” From the song as im leaving by david gray We grabbed some breakfast and noticed that brian is back in the fold with the entertainment staff - good move in my view dude knows his stuff and hopefully he has learned a little form hi sexperience as it will only make him better at what he does J Rounded up pics and headed to the airport and home Closing thoughts Was it as good as last years - well for some it was probably better - for some it was far worse and for t and I there were parts that were definitely better and parts that were definitely much worse. This trip was much different last year and had we focused on all the things missing from last year or previous trips - instead of making the most out of this one we would have missed out on a lot of the fun. Each trip is different and you have to adjust to the dynamics of the situation or you will not have any fun. So we adjusted J There has been a lot of discussion about trying out next year as a desire and I am going to be honest and say that we are about 99 percent certain we are going to give desire a chance. We all know I am not a big fan of naked men but the reality is - its past time for me to get over the whole dingle dangle thing - you know ?? Now we had considered possibly a return to cancun as we have lots of friends there… but the reality is that the cancun temptation chapter in our life has already been read. In fact, both the temptation theme resorts have been great chapters for us……. But………its like the little life lessons I give to our three kiddos….. “once a chapter in your life is over don’t bitch and whine about it or try and read the same chapter over and over and over again ….your life is a book and there are many more great chapters still waiting to be read……….so let it go…..don’t get stuck on a single sentence in a great chapter……or a shitty one for that matter…….move along at a good life pace………..always ready to pause for a moment, reflect, then move forward and take that risk by reading the opening line in the next chapter of your life” The kids humor me and smile and in my own way I know they get it - even though they hate admitting it J they tolerate me and my outlandish sense of humor very well J This (temptation los cabos and this forum) has been a great chapter in our lives just as blue bay getaway/temptation cancun and that forum was a great chapter in our lives………and while it always sad to see a great chapter pass - new and exciting chapters in our life await us somewhere………somewhere soon I trust. Rob I love your trip reports and the way you write them, you are able to articulate things in an accurate way which I only wish I could do. I believe you have summed up an excellent account of the week, we had a great time, but I think some of the spontanaity (and I bet I spealt that wrong) that was there last year was missing. Our new additions were great additions to the group and our existing, returning people were a total blast as well. All of our friends from home have expressed admiration for the place, and how much they enjoyed it. The sunset da mona lisa was as you described, fabulous, I am not even 100% sure what I ate that night, but the ambiance of friends and the facilities was worth the price of admission alone. The boobze cruise was a lot of fun, but as you mentioned it got chilly as the evening wore on, I have no regrets signing up for it however, as the majesty of the surroundings is and was overwhelming. Having the whales follow us along was pretty cool as well, and totally unexpected. My brother spent a couple thousand dollars a few years ago to go to Newfoundland to specifically see whales and we seen them here without anticipating them. I wasn't even aware that the boat had broken down part way through the cruise, I was told that later. Retro day/night was a ton of fun, and the dancing at the end of the evening was a blast. Shooters was a blast, meeting Doug was pretty cool (or was it Joe)?. The last evening went on and on and was a blast, we slept from about 5-7, went to Karaoke, came back, wandered to the MegaMall, it was closed, came back, went to the 360 club, went outside and talked with security, came back, I think we seen you guys then, talked with Sondra who was looking for Stuart whom we had left up at the 360 club while waiting for Sondra, went back up, came back down, went to the room, decided to come back, finally left at 4 am, crashed and woke up at 8 am, to leave too soon at 10:30 am. Hanging out and meeting up again with you and T is always enjoyable and the planning that you do and provide is fantastic, I hope we can do something simialr down the road. Did you forget the serious body shots with Rob the Younger and two hot chicks in the disco? I have pics! My wife is still sticky in inappropriate places. Great review and there is still the rumor of Temptation weeks at Desire Cabo. If you decide to go next year count us in!
Guys dont even worry about Desire after being naked or seing naked men after teo hours everything looks the same.lol so go for it have fun Desire is a great place we only been 10+ times.lol and loved every single time.
Yeah - im sure i will look right past it besides everyone is watching the chicks anyway I slways said ....... There is a reason there are only a handful of male stripper clubs - its the same reason people avoid women's basketball Games ......nobody wants to see that $&@! Lol The best Rob

Awesome trip report (and pics) Rob! We were trying to align our trip with your group's, but the kid's spring break schedule wouldn't allow it. Admittingly, your constant battle with the "creepers' has me a little concerned. Wondering if I'll be running interference for my wife the entire time. We were last there 3 years ago and I don't believe there were any single guys there, so I'm not sure what to expect. Any tips or tricks you have regarding this would be greatly appreciated. We'll be there from the 19th - 23rd - 3 more days - can't wait!
thanks so much for the kind words - we only had one day of creeperthon so i suspect it was just a fluke as the rest of the stay we did not have any issues like that at all..........just great fun people the best rob
