While one of the things we love about TTR is the broad diversity of folks you'll encounter there, my wife and I have not had as much luck finding other self-identified "geeks" there. We were astounded, in fact, when multiple people failed to recognize the Princess Leia slave-girl outfit my wife chose to wear to Lingerie night last May. I mean, really?! I have to believe that we aren't the only ones there who might be just as likely to spend a weekend at Comic-Con or the Renaissance Faire as at TTR. So howabout it? Any fellow geeks here at Cancuncare want to give us a shout out? Who here loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Sherlock, vampires (sparkly or otherwise), Hunger Games, pretty much anything by Joss Whedon, etc.? We'd especially love to connect with others who are going to be there between May 16-23 when we are, but wouldn't mind just finding out more generally if there are any others out there. We're definitely looking to do some kind of sexy geek girl outfits for the costume nights - maybe we can share some ideas, links, pictures, etc.
That's shocking! You don't have to be a geek to recognize Princess Leia's slave girl outfit! Maybe if everybody there that week was under 30, but still - that's always on the list of guys' top fantasies.
I know, right? But sadly I think only one person even recognized who she was dressed as, several others had to ask us what it was, and one person was even so clueless that they even offered to go help her pick out a "real" outfit.
don't feel bad - you are not the only geek that loves TTR. Let's just say my wife wishes they would take SYFY channel off the air. I am even worse cause I am a redneck southern geek all my life.
It is just sad that no one could recognize your wife's Princess Leia slave outfit. I don't think you would even need to be classified as a "geek" to recognize that.
Debbie and I have had discussions as to if I am geek or a nerd. Guess the jury is still out on that one.:icon_confused: George
Maybe there were just alot of Europeans there, though i agree everyone should recognize that outfit. I'm a geek by profession but i dont look like one.
