Read my drops of love posts from Oct.!! Seriously - that is the biggest waste of money ever!! They place a lot of value on things that actually have little value, and what is the most valuable in what they advertise about Drops of Love, they don't even do! We got it because of the butler and room service for every meal. A "butler" to them means they make dinner reservations for you, and they have NO room service other than juice and pastries in the morning. You get chocolate/cakes in your room in the afternoon, a couples massage, and an aromatherapy bath in your room one day - oh, and dinner on the beach or in your room one night. For $700 they just don't offer enough to make it worthwhile (we thought a butler would bring us drinks in our room, and we could get food brought to us in bad weather - not so much ...) Drops of Love was the only reason we booked during hurricane season, and 2 days of our trip were lost to a tropical storm, that package is way over priced for what you get!!
Well you know that goes without saying...LOL If they send us to an adult resort and all the other perks yeah I'll go quietly into the night... but just the one night, just NO KIDS...LOL
When we were at TTR in march it seemed like the people who had longer stays (2 weeks, 10 days) got bumped for the first night while i didnt here of anybody staying 3 to 7 nights getting bumped?
as long as they walk me to Desire i wont complain....if i get walked to a resorrt with kids....not so much.
I've posted about this before...We got bumped last May. We arrived on a Friday and had booked for four nights through Alpharooms. When we arrived at lunchtime they gave us our wristbands and told us our room would be ready shortly. About five hours later we were told we were going to the kiddie resort (Sea Adventures). No other choice as all other resorts were booked also. Yes, we spoke to the manager. No, it did no good. We were bumped for one night only and when we returned they upgraded us to a jacuzzi room. Great, as long as you had a day or so to wait while the broken jacuzzi filled with water! Anyhow, we met some great people who were also bumped that we might not have otherwise met. The vacation, once at Temptations, was a good one and we are returning this May. Looking at the number of people (on this site alone) going in May we're saying a prayer this doesn't happen to us again, although this time we booked directly through the resort.
I hope it doesn't happen too often... I'd be screwed topless with mesh thong in some other resorts!!!
Congratulations on getting the Drops of Love Package.. We got it last time we were there and would highly recommend it . You get personalized service and instant access to restaurants. The concierge bent over backwards to make sure our stay was the greatest one we've had, and it was. As for bumping there are only so many of the Jacuzzi rooms available and only so many people willing to pay for the upgrade so I don't think the odds are any different. They seem to be only bumping for a day as far as people have mentioned.
We got bumped for 1 night last year (to GP) and were booked for 7 through our local travel agent. This time I have my confirmation # on an e-mail straight from the Reservations Manager. Hopefully this will help avoid the bump this time around.
