Hi all One of the couples that is heading to Temptations has had 2 experiences at Cancun airport when they were flying back in which they were told there luggage was overweight when it wasn't. Has anyone had this issue in Cancun as well and if so any tips on how to avoid it besides just bringing bottoms :icon_wink:. It happened to us in Cuba and I can tell you we had lots going and were not overweight and very little coming back and they told us were were overweight.
Can always get one of these so you have some sort of assurance... HEYS xScale - The World's Smallest Portable Luggage Scale
I have found that if I include a tip when I hand them airline agent my passport ($5 or #10 depending on location and country) that they have never even battered an eye including those times that the bag was clearly a couple of pounds over the limit. Better to pay the tip then pay the extra fees.
well, one reason i think it s that ur clothes in the suitcase carry mositure from cancun beach and in the air so it does add up to the weight !!! dont bring clothes that u dont need espicallly women bring shoes !!!!! just bring swim suit and NO TOWELS !! AND few others things and sandels thats it !!!! LOL
on our return flight with Air Transat, we were % kilos over weight... we took nothing more back, then we took down. strangely enough, a number of other people were 5 kilos over as well. even more strange, the ticket agent preferred "cash" as payment over visa...... go figure.
ha ha i always take alot of shoes!! but they go in my carry on. and TTR clothes dont wiegh veery much!!!
We had the same issue. We were taking back alot less than we took down. I refused to pay and unpacked cloths right there in line and put them in my carry on. Same weight, just different section of the plane. Guess it makes a difference?????
We bought a portable luggage scale that we double checked against the airport digital scales. So we know in advance there is no room for argument!
