I'm currently deployed and will be trying out TTR for the first time at the end of July. When traveling via the military it is very difficult to have exact dates and curious if I booked with Alpharooms with an approx. date and arrived within a day or two of that date, will the hotel work with me? Anyone ever had this issue, if so feedback would be great.
It's possible that you may have to book a couple extra days on either end to make sure you have a reservation in place for you. If you do that make sure you get a note attached to your file that you may not show up for the first day or so. Although I have never been there in July, it's possible that the hotel may not be at capacity and you could just book last minute when you know what's going on. Keep safe and out of harms way as much as possible!
I would only book through alpha rooms for the dates you know you will be there. Most travel sites won't work with you at all (you will have to pay for all the days you book).
That is the problem, not sure of exact dates. I fly out (or supposed to fly out of location) on July 18 for Kuwait. Could be in Kuwait for a day or two not sure, and I would like to prebook with Alpharooms for a better price. I was thinking of just booking for July 20th and I guess I could call the hotel like mentioned above to let them know I might arrive on the 19th or 21st and make sure there is no issues.
June, July, and August are considered the off-season, so hopefully you wouldn't have much of a problem adding on a night or two if needed.
That is true as well, appreciate the feedback from everyone. With this being first time was just wanted to get some advice before calling the resort with some options.
The advantage Alpha rooms is you can book and purchase the insurance, which will allow you to cancel up to 48 hours prior to arrival. I would recommend you book for the days you think then if you are not going to make it just cancel will cost you around 60 bucks. In Kuwait you can make reservations on the Spaware computers in the holding area prior to boarding your flight for R & R, I had guys that left for leave in Feb and were stuck for a few days. Good luck.
