Tried 5 hour energy at TTR in January for the first time (thanks D & Mike!) and I would recommend that for sure. I like the RockStar Lemonade, but you can't buy it anywhere in Cancun (trust me, I really looked!) - that is only 10 calories and it tastes really good. But 5 hour energy is a much smaller bottle so it is easy to bring in a checked bag, and you can get the best deal at Costco. The coffee at TTR sucks, and they charge about $4 to buy a Red Bull (which I don't like), so energy drinks really fill that void (or the green tea pills I brought with me) - worst case you can get 5 hour energy at WalMart in Cancun if you don't want to bring it with you. There is a Sam's Club by the WalMart too, and they might have it there (if you have a membership) - the Sam's Club rocks for any alcohol you want for the room as well (they had a HUGE bottle of Hpnotiq, and we are totally buying that the next time we go!).
Geeze! Thanks for the details. You sound like you know your stuff! Sounds perfect since everyone in the thread for hangovers recommend B vitamins! Sounds like the perfect solution for energy and hangover!
Sam's Club has their own brand of 5hr energy as well. Tastes and works the same for less than a buck a bottle....................
Ive never tried the 5 hr energy because I am always afraid of anything that i think might give me that "speedy,heart racing feeling". I tried a "yellow jacket" one time cuz my friend said it would give me energy at work when I'd only gotten a few hrs of sleep the night before. I ended up a big sweatball & thought I was having a heart attack & almost ended up in the ER. My friend said I might have been allergic to something in it or something. All I know is I NEVER want to feel like that again!! I have lots of friends who use the 5 hr energy everytime we go out drinking & they swear by it but Ive always been nervous to try it. I have no problem with the energy drinks like red bull & monster in shots tho. So I guess my question is does it give u a speedy feeling or does it just give u more energy & makes u so u dont get tired? Thanks!! :ernaehrung005:Jess

It's not like actually doing cocaine, you don't get that sweaty, heart-racing feeling. You just have an extra kick and you drink a lot faster after a 5-hour energy. I think 5-hour energy really works well in combination with alcohol.

Just to end the 5 hour energy caffeine debate...their own ingredient lists caffeine equivalent to one 12 ounce cup of premium coffee...the decaf 5 hour energy has half the caffeine What's in a 5-hour ENERGY® shot?
