The "What do you tell your family" Thread has inspired me... I'm a teacher in a school that has disciplined teachers this year for Facebook photos in which they were holding a drink at a NYE party (the horror!!!) and postings using "inappropriate language." Yes, there's evidence that someone searches us and turns "questionable" material in to administration. Obviously, my real TTR adventures will not get posted! However, I want to have a little fun with this! I want to spend an hour or so preparing a photo album of what would be the World's Most Lame-A$$ Vacation. Here are my ideas so far: Knitting on a beach bed Reading the Bible by the pool Water...just lots and lots of water About 20 shots of food...maybe the same item from 20 angles What other suggestions can you give me to bore my coworkers so badly they'll never be curious again?????
you culd always sit around the pool with your garments on, and showing, with about 10 little ones ages 1-10 hanging on you. with the testament in thiere hands
I know what you mean, Dawn is a school teacher as well. We really have to be careful...sad but so true.
You know what sucks though... I bet all these people we feel that we need to be careful around and conceal what we are really doing... not tell those at work because of how we may be portrayed... All those people, or at least the majority of them - would LOVE to go on a trip like this and feel the same way. Its ridiculous! We all work, and we all work hard I am quite certain. What is the big deal about having that 1 or 2 weeks where we don't have to be the responsible role model citizen. But I get it... often life is about impressions and are we seen as responsible trustworthy people. I just wish that honesty about what we choose to do on vacation, and the fact that we take that vacation time 1000 miles from home was also seen as a responsible choice.
Seriously, how can they get away with that? An adult is conducting in a legal activity and not doing anything ethically or morally wrong. Besides, what one person considers ethical or moral, someone else may not. Which means those are basically someone's opinion. I don't know how companies and school districts can fire people on an opinion without having repercussions of serious lawsuits. I've been thinking of this alot recently and it really grinds my gears. They can't say a person is setting a bad example because they're doing something that's legal and they don't know if that's the first and only drink or if there's even anything in it and the picture is just something of a joke (obviously a clear glass can be seen). I know contracts are signed and all that but again, who decides on what is conduct unbecoming and where does it end?
