Hi, I'm new to this forum and would love some advice! I have booked our honeymoon to Excellence Playa Mujeres from 17th September to 1st October this year. Reviews on weather are very mixed so would just like to know if anyone has personally been around this time of year? I'm worried it will rain all the time! Thanks in advance
We went the first two weeks in september last year and the weather was mostly brilliant. We had one evening in the two weeks when there was crazy rain but the next day was great again. Expect the odd cloud here and there but for us it was about 85% blazing sunshine. Also, it was very humid so be prepared to sweat quite alot.
I've been here for the last 7 Septembers the whole month long. September is always a weather gamble, it's the wettest month of the year but it only rains 7 days out of 30 on average. You should still see plenty of sun with max temps in the 90s more often than not. Hurricanes are also a possibility, although you'd have to be very unlucky to experience one. It will definitely NOT rain all the time. We were just there last September and it didn't rain once during the day the whole time we were there. Although at night we saw the biggest thunderstorm we have ever seen in Cancun roll through. Rained for a couple hours that night with really loud thunder. Historically, you are going during prime hurricane season though, so be prepared.
Weather has always been nice and hot for me in Sept and Oct. It is hurricane season there and we had to cancel trip when Wilma went thru few years ago. Cancun is always nice. : )
I think thats probably the night i remember when we were there, cant remember the date but it was some of the heaviest rain ive ever seen. Was fun watching it from the inside though.:ernaehrung005:
It was on Saturday night (24th?), we were all standing out by the pool bar near the ocean when all of a sudden the whole place lit up from lightning followed by a gigantic BOOM. It sent a lot of the people scrambling to their rooms.
