This was our first trip to TTR, but won't be our last. It's really the people you meet there that make it such a great time and atmosphere. I'll take this spot to thank all the CC members and everyone else we met for making this such a great vacation. Most of our time there was spent at the sexy pool during the day and paty o's at night, so I'll try to hit on the other stuff that happened. Sunday Arrive in Cancun around 10. We made it through customs and to the resort pretty fast, about 60-80mins, with only one step before our resort. Keep your bags with you until you meet your driver who will be waiting for you outside in front of the bar. There are lots of timeshare reps calling out things in the airport. There's also the timeshare rep waiting in the lobby of the resort. No need to let them cut in on your vacation time. We waited until about 2pm to check in, Rm 4404. It doesn't take long to start recognizing CC members. Every other conversation started with, "Hey aren't you ... from CC?" We didn't really notice the orange bracelets or markings. Monday Think this was the day we ended up in the Daring darts competition. More of the same, sexy pool, paty o's. Tuesday We made a deal with the Coco Bongo rep (on Monday) to go out Tuesday for $45pp. I think it's something you have to do once. About 20 different acts, impersonators and acrobats fill the show. Order drinks 3-4 at a time though. You have to find your own way back, taxi is $10. Wednesday Vicki won the Miss Temptation contest. She definitely surprised me and stepped out of her comfort zone. There was a skinny dipping party after paty o's in the sports pool. Security was lax about it provided there was no 'coochie coochie'. Thursday We slept in and missed our Boobs Cruise. Big mistake! We had a free pass for the One and Only, and took that the next day. lingerie night was fun, but the bar ran out of cups. Dress code was in effect, with cameras banned.Probably 50% changed back to clothes before going back to paty o's. Friday The hotel's one and only cruise was probably about 12 couples, 10 single guys and 6 single girls. The end result was a very tame cruise, kindergarten as Chinos put it. They couldn't even grab enough volunteers to play any games, so it was just a dance party on the beach. Saturday Time to relax and take it easy. We had a relaxing hot stone couples massage at the spa. Sunday Left in the morning. Our charter was nice enough to call us and leave a message that the plane would be delayed a few hours though so we didn't have to be stuck at the airport. Overall thoughts, FAQ - I'll try to touch on a few topics I've seen pop up *there are NO clocks anywhere. If you need to keep on time, bring your own. Food. We ate mainly at the buffet, but did the Tex Mex for lunch a few times and the Asian for dinner. No complaints, should be able to find something you like. The fettuccine alfredo and chicken stir fry at the Tex Mex were a couple of favourites. Staff Entertainment is basically Brenda and Sara on the mic, with Manuel helping out. Thought they did a pretty good job. Single guys There were a few groups of guys, but they mainly kept to themselves. There were also a few guys on their own that got along great with everyone. Thong-friendly At the sexy pool it's about 80% topless and 30% wearing thongs. Gay-friendly Didn't see any problems, and they seemed to have as much fun as anyone else. Feel free to ask any other questions.
Thanks for your T/R. So will you be repeating anytime soon? Seems each time you the ladder gets raised and you can't see yourself going anywhere else. Jeff n Jill
how do you know when your transport will be picking you up from the hotel to the airport normally? I know you said they were nice enough to call and say your flight was delayed, but was there a prearranged time before that? and if so how much prior to your flight leaving do the pick you up?
Thanks for the trip report. And let us know when your time to vote for Feb Miss Temptation comes up, so that Cancuncare members can get behind you and support one of our own and hopefully pull in another monthly winner. Ed
We were handed a pamphlet and told to meet someone in the lobby for orientation. We assumed this was some sort of timeshare pitch, and we already knew our way around. We had the concierge phone our charter.
Each travel company has a book at the hotel that shows you your flight departure times and what time your shuttle will come and pick you up. It's located down the hall from the sports bar....come find us and we can help you find it or just ask at the front desk. Definitely don't get sucked into the orientation or timeshare unless you are truly interested. These nice ladies sit just to the left of the lobby at check in and will try to get you to sign up for a timeshare presentation. Also DON'T talk to anyone in the airport that may tell you they are with your travel agency. Keep walking outside and there will be people with signs for your tour group and that is where you will be taken care of.....hope this is helpful!!! :aktion030:
